About us

Local Government Procurement (LGP) has been established to provide a fully integrated procurement service to councils and associated organisations in NSW. From October 2008 LGP also has the ability to assist Not for Profit Groups across Australia with their procurement needs. LGP was established by the Local Government and Shires Associations of New South Wales on behalf of its members to create a procurement operation dedicated to meeting the specific needs of Local Government.

  • LGP ANNUAL CONFERENCE 2024 - A Snapshot The 2024 LGP Annual Conference was a remarkable success! Opened by the Hon. Ron Hoenig, Minister for Local Government NSW, and graced by Elder Brendan Kerin's Welcome to Country, the conference set an inspiring tone. Keynote speaker Dianne McGrath captivated the audience with insights from her sailing adventures, tying the theme of "Create Ripples, Ride the Wave" to the concept of micro-adjustments—a powerful strategy for achieving shared goals. With over 130 delegates representing 60+ councils and 33 exhibitors, the two-day event offered a wealth of knowledge, equipping attendees with actionable concepts to bring back to their workplaces. Throughout the two days of conference, industry experts delivered impactful presentations on a range of critical topics, offering valuable insights and best practices to delegates. Their presentations covered a range of topics. These sessions were designed to provide attendees with practical knowledge and strategies that could be directly applied to their work, fostering real-world improvements within their councils. Delegates engaged with every exhibitor, exploring innovative solutions and resources. The conference dinner on Day 1 featured the LGP Procurement Awards and concluded with great food and vibrant music. At the end of the conference, delegates left equipped with new perspectives, tools, and approaches, ready to implement these ideas in their own local government contexts. The LGP Annual Conference 2024 underscored LGP's commitment to elevating procurement practices and advancing council initiatives across NSW.
