Established and funded under the Queensland Government’s Making it in Queensland: Building a Stronger Manufacturing Sector policy in 2022, our vision is to create the skills pathways for the future of manufacturing in Queensland. Manufacturing is vital to Queensland. Our aim is to ensure the industry has a diverse workforce with the skills and capabilities to embrace new and emerging technologies and respond to economic opportunities or challenges vital to improving productivity and global competitiveness. The Made in Queensland (MiQ) program is getting a $5 million boost each year to increase international competitiveness, productivity and innovation, and to generate high-skilled jobs for the future. Round 7 of the MiQ grants program is now open, with grants ranging from $50,000 to $2.5 million available to help Queensland manufacturers grow and create more jobs. On the road this week with Georgi Tomlinson, our Industry Engagement Manager for Schools. Georgi attended the STEM Advanced Manufacturing Future Skills Showcase events in Toowoomba and the Gold Coast, where young minds have been shining bright. This exciting series brings together primary and high school students to develop real-world solutions using 3D printing and design-led thinking. From crafting prototypes to presenting their innovative ideas, these students impressed everyone with their creativity, problem-solving, and entrepreneurial spirit. It’s truly inspiring to see what the next generation is capable of. Today, the series wraps up in Moreton Bay.
