The inaugural LIONS@springwood Christmas in July Gala, held at Brighton Homes Arena, was a great success raising $32,000, highlighting the strong partnership between Mater Foundation and Lions@Springwood supported by the Brisbane Lions. Guests on the night learned of the benefits of the new Mater Public Hospital Springfield, which is due to open its doors in 2026. The hospital will provide much needed services including a 24/7 Emergency Department, expanded Intensive Care Unit and theatres, and a Neonatal Critical Care Unit (NCCU). Thanks to funds raised at the Gala and the support of Lions@Springwood, specialist equipment will be purchased for the Mater Public Hospital Springfield's NCCU, allowing Mater to care for sick and premature babies right here in Greater Springfield.
