We are excited to announce that construction is now well underway at Serai, and excitement is building with the installation of a 55m luffer crane earlier this week! Megara Director, Jamie Clarke, and West to West Construction General Manager, Adam Harvey, met with local media on site to celebrate this significant milestone and showcase the progress made on site after a massive 25,000 cubic metres of soil was removed in preparation for the pouring of the concrete slabs. It has taken an incredible amount of dedication and hard work to reach this historic moment, so well done to everyone involved. We look forward to sharing more exciting updates as construction progresses on this stunning development in North Fremantle. Experience 'Milieu,' a captivating installation featuring two distinct sculptures along Newcastle Street by Sean Van der Poel RAD architecture. Designed to interact with the urban environment, the first is a large wall-mounted piece of twenty-two triangular, mirror-finished elements. The second pedestrian-level sculpture, with sixteen folding triangular faces. Inspired by the surrounding city grids of Central and North Perth, reflecting Leederville's streetscape by day and transforming into a vibrant, illuminated spectacle by night. As viewers and passers by move around, each sculpture responds, stitching together multiple viewpoints and elements of the vibrant environment. Some may see the reflection of the Leederville streetscape, while others depict sunsets and 'The Foundry' development above. The start of a new year provides the perfect opportunity to look back and reflect on the achievements made over the last year! And we are pleased to say that Megara had quite an exciting 2023. From the launch of Ora, Sorrento to the completion of both The Foundry in Leederville and Maraboo Island in Port Coogee as well as the start of construction at Serai in North Fremantle. These incredible achievements during one of the most challenging times in the construction industry, are testament to the hard work and dedication of our amazing team and partners. Not only have Megara achieved these incredible milestones, but we have also been honoured to receive multiple awards on our Ora Sorrento project, including the Urban Development Institute of Australia (WA) Marketing Excellence Awards, the Corian® Design Award and a commendation from the Planning Institute of Australia for Planning Excellence in the category of stakeholder engagement. We are incredibly proud of the achievements and progress we have made in 2023, and look forward to what 2024 will bring.
