A fantastic evening last night at our first 'To The Floor - Pā Harakeke’ launch in Ōtautahi, with Pōneke, and Tāmaki Makaurau coming up today and tomorrow. Milliken Floors ANZ Creative Director James Mfula and Arnya Karaitiana met with industry peers and friends to celebrate the launch of the Pā Harakeke Collection. We extend an invitation to our valued clients and friends in Aotearoa, New Zealand to join us for a series of events featuring Arnya Karaitiana, the winner of our 'To The Floor' competition. Arnya Karaitiana, born in Hastings, Aotearoa, New Zealand, is of Māori descent – Rangitāne, Ngāti Ranginui, Te Arawa. She will provide insights from her unique Indigenous perspective through her Te Ao Māori worldview, focusing on the connections and relationships between people and place. At our ‘To The Floor’ events in Christchurch, Wellington, and Auckland, Arnya will share how the collection connects to her from a Te Ao Māori perspective, highlighting the importance of connection, whānau (family), and inter-generational knowledge in her identity and well-being. With 11 years in the carpet industry and 8 in furniture, she brings an extensive understanding of design, materials, and successful client collaborations.   With a background in textiles and art history, Carla has always been drawn to how patterns, textures, and colours shape a space. Now, at Milliken Floors ANZ, she’s excited to explore how customisation and design innovation come together—working closely with the Milliken Design Studio to help clients turn their creative vision into bespoke floor coverings.
