Our MMIC Director Prof Michelle McIntosh and Senior Scientist in Biologics, Dr Shadab Haque, PhD are participating in the inaugural Cumming Global Centre for Pandemic Therapeutics Annual Symposium, representing our advanced expertise and capabilities in respiratory delivery of biologic therapeutics to address future pandemic challenges.
The inaugural Cumming Global Centre for Pandemic Therapeutics Annual Symposium kicked off last night with an Opening Reception event. The symposium brings together the leading scientists from around the globe dedicated to advancing the science behind therapeutic development for pathogens of pandemic potential, to share learnings and strengthen collaboration opportunities. It is also an opportunity for our major supporting partners to connect with researchers funded through the Cumming Global Centre and hear about the progress of their work. The event brings together: 🔬All 32 recipients of the Cumming Global Centre Foundation Grants Program, which was set up to accelerate the science behind therapeutic development. 🧑🔬 Representatives from the Centre’s global institutional research partners, including the The University of Bonn. 🌏All members of our Interim Scientific Advisory Board, who come from all corners of the globe and provide independent advice critical to the success of the Centre. 🤝 The Centre’s biggest supporters, including our inaugural major donor Mr Geoffrey Cumming, Jesse Marble and representatives from our major supporting partner the Victorian Government, Amanda Caples and Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions. 🚀 The visionary leaders who have played a critical role in the success of the Centre to-date, including our inaugural Director Sharon Lewin and Nobel Laureate Peter Doherty.
