Great to see our CEO Rhonda Brighton-Hall FCPHR at the recent Hays Salary Guide launch. A great conversation amongst experts on the state of the jobs market, businesses and the wider economy, technology, and the implications humanity must keep navigating to evolve and sustainably grow. Kristian Kolding Matthew Dickason
Had a great time with this gang at the Hays Salary Guide launch yesterday. By combining the voice of employers and employees through the salary survey, Rhonda Brighton-Hall FCPHR’s expertise in people, leadership and culture and my own economic understanding we were able to shed new light on the productivity debate, why power is shifting back from workers to employers, and better understand how the cost of living crisis affects the value of different retention and attraction strategies. Find a link to the guide and launch materials in the comment below. Matthew Dickason Oxford Economics Australia Janice Petersen

June is when a whole set of serious and overwhelming issues coincide. Each issue, in and of itself, represents a lifetime of work for many people, often over multiple generations, all determined to tackle complex and impossible problems and make a difference to the future we all share. While each topic deserves our full and undivided attention, when we dived into each one, we were blown away by the amazing thinking, writing, and actions under each agenda, by the extraordinary leadership and commitment, and most importantly, by the impact the work of these individuals was having on the lives of many. Taking a moment to recognise this amazing work we were reminded of the words of Emeritus Professor Rosyln Crouther, current President of the Australian Human Rights Commission, "Some things put wind in the sails of optimism". #ReconciliationWeek #WorldEnvironmentDay #Pride #MensHealthWeek #PTSDAwareness https://lnkd.in/g7M5bwSR

Last week, we had the pleasure of being invited to Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect)'s Night at The Stadium, at the Sydney Cricket Ground What a fantastic night - all about the power of sport to include! And a room full of people wanting to listen and learn. There's no doubt the highlight was Ultra-Marathon Runner Grace Tame, but there were many others. For all of us who volunteer as coaches and helpers for #Netta, #Auskick, #HotShots, #LittleLeague, #Kickeroos, and even #Dance, we were shown great ways to include all kids (and adults) via the simplest ideas of #VisualStoryBoards. Wonderful MC'ing from Tracey Holmes, fantastic panel, great research from Tom Tutton and Western Sydney Wanderers FC great demo (and Jacqui Borland's excellent goal kicking), all so good. And for THE answer of the night - Grace's answer to Tracy's question about "Which sportsperson did you most want to be like when you were little?" She admired them all, but the answer "I'd be myself earlier" made the whole room smile. We've included the link to ASPECT's resources in the comments, and encourage you to get involved and open up your own world.

We love this in conversation about mutual trust. Backbone of business for every organisation and for every one of us - customer or employee. We also loved the feedback on the way we use data 💙 to understand value and mutuality. Thanks to the Michael Rosemann for facilitating the #BrisbaneTrustAlliance and inviting Tash (Natasha) Down to lead this one.
Trust often materialises in various facets of mutual trust. Facilitated by the fabulous Tash (Natasha) Down from mwah. making work absolutely human, we dived into the characteristics, requirements and opportunities of mutual trust. How can mutual trust be visualised, designed and what is the role of mutual distrust? When do companies need to trust their customers and with what? How do customers build trust with their providers? How do we scale mutual trust? When is trusting the average good enough? These were some of the questions for which we discussed various practical cases and possible solutions in light of our trust equation. Contact Tash directly to learn more about her insightful tool. The Brisbane Trust Alliance meets once the month at QUT (Queensland University of Technology). Join us, if you want to build trust literacy and would like to explore how trust can unlock new strategic options and become a source of competitive advantage.

Never been more important to stand together against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT), celebrating LGBTOQ+ people globally and raising awareness of the work still needed to combat discrimination. Pride in Diversity
🏳️🌈Today, 17 May, is International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT) which celebrates LGBTQ+ people globally and raises awareness for the work still needed to combat discrimination. 🏳️🌈It was started in 2004 to commemorate the day in 1990 when the World Health Organization declassified homosexuality as a mental disorder. 🏳️⚧There is still a long way to go. As of 2023, there are still 64 countries where homosexuality is criminalised, around the world trans people continue to face violence and pathologisation and our intersex friends keep fighting for the right to bodily integrity, physical autonomy and self-determination. 🏳️⚧Over the years, the focus of the day has broadened to draw attention to the violence and discrimination experienced by all sexuality and gender diverse communities, as well as intersex people. 🏳️⚧Today, IDAHOBIT is recognised in more than 130 countries, including Australia. This year’s global theme is 'No one left behind: equality, freedom and justice for all'. It aims to encourage advocacy and celebrations in many forms – be it from human rights defenders, LGBTIQ civil society groups, millions of people in our communities, and our allies. 🏳️🌈Stand up and make your voice heard this IDAHOBIT day. ➡️For resources and more information, please visit: https://lnkd.in/g3F9vTer #IDAHOBIT #IDAHOBIT2024 #PrideInDiversity #ACON

We're walking for #WalkforAutism We'd love your support.
Founder & CEO mwah. Making Work Absolutely Human | An unashamedly human voice for Culture and Belonging and diagnostics that matter | Determined Optimist
It's May and members of our team here mwah. making work absolutely human have joined the Walk for Autism to raise money for the important work done by one of our favourite clients - Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect)). ASPECT's work across the community is broad. To give an example in research and assessment: $256 helps towards assessments that open doors to early intervention for children, and support for adults. It's great we can lend even a small hand to this community, and focus on our step count while we do. We would very much appreciate your support. Contagions. The reality of org behaviour is that it spreads fast! This week we talk about why the very best people and the very worst spread their influence so quickly! And why what you do about it is really important for everyone else. Plus a little on the new Swedish research on the corporate favourite 'meetings' and why they might actually be a good idea, albeit one that needs a rebrand. While every story needs (or wants) a villain, in the world of organisational culture they're rarer than you think. We look thoughtfully at the differences between human fallibility and the truly villainous, and how to tell the difference. #culture #organizationalculture #badbehaviour https://lnkd.in/gvaFZf6P

"At the simplest level, human connections make us the rich beings that we are, full of life, of interests, of purpose, of meaning and needing, of supporting and helping, and connecting makes our lives longer, of higher quality, of better health". A great article from our co-founder James Hancock FCPHR looking at the science, the possibilities, and the reality of why connecting matters. #Connecting #relationships #humansatwork
