Today is International Childhood Cancer Day. A global collaborative campaign that raises awareness and support for children, adolescents, survivors and their familes. 💙❤️💛 At My Room Children’s Cancer Charity, we’re on a mission to fight childhood cancer with all we’ve got. We’re a volunteer-led charity that understands the devastating impact of cancer on families. Our goal is to bring hope and respite to Australian families affected by this disease. We believe that every child deserves a fighting chance, so we work tirelessly to raise funds for holistic support. From financial assistance through our Samaritan Fund to high-quality clinical care and innovative medical research, trials and equipment, we want to give children the best possible chance of beating cancer. ❤️💙💛

NEW FUNDING PARTNERSHIP BACKS INNOVATIVE PAEDIATRIC BRAIN CANCER TREATMENT My Room Children’s Cancer Charity have joined forces with five other leading philanthropic organisations to form, the TarGeT Collaborative to fund an innovative, international clinical trial for children and young adults diagnosed with high-grade gliomas. The TarGeT trial, led by ANZCHOG, leverages precision medicine to deliver treatments tailored to each patient’s unique tumour genetics,  offering hope for improved outcomes, in a field where current treatments often fall short. Together with the Robert Connor Dawes (RCD) Foundation, Children's Cancer Foundation (Australia), The Kids' Cancer Project, the Mark Hughes Foundation Centre for Brain Cancer Research at the University of Newcastle, and The Cure Starts Now Cancer Foundation this funding initiative commits $1,925,000 over seven years for this cutting-edge trial. Your unwavering kindness and generosity during my daughter Charlie’s cancer battle has meant more to us than words can express. Being away from our home in Townsville and navigating the challenges of treatment in Brisbane has been difficult, but your consistent support has made an enormous difference. Your assistance has not only provided practical help but has also given us comfort and hope during some of the hardest days. Knowing there are people like you behind us has made us feel seen, cared for, and connected to a compassionate community. Your contributions have lightened our load and given Charlie and me the strength to push forward. Your care has not only impacted our present but will be a part of our healing journey as we look ahead to better days. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being there for us. ❤️ A LETTER OF THANKS TO MY ROOM ❤️ Dear My Room, Thank you for helping us with the dream of going to the Gold Coast. It came at a great time for the children as we had been hit with some family issues recently. This holiday was more than just a holiday — it also helped with our mental health. The kids needed this more than ever. We had the best time. The boys’ eyes lit up when they experienced things they have never seen before. Thank you so much! Alana and family.

My Room is proud to announce the funding and support of a new national initiative to preserve fertility for children with cancer. Joining forces with the Children's Cancer Foundation (Australia), together, we’ve committed $6.4 million over the next five years to this landmark initiative launched by The Royal Women's Hospital. The national program will provide fertility preservation services, education, and research for young cancer patients nationwide and thanks to funding support, young cancer patients and their families can access these services free of charge.
