Raising and investing funds to develop new and better cancer treatment and support for children and their families.
About us
The Children’s Cancer Foundation was founded in 1992 by parents who envisioned more welcoming and better treatment environments for children, and practical support for families in this disease that ultimately affects them all for life. The guiding light of the parent’s experience continues today, as the legacy of the organisation’s founders continues to evolve to meet the community requirements of today and tomorrow. Since inception, the Foundation has successfully raised over $70 million, which funds critical medical research and individual research roles, and supports children and families during and after cancer treatment, throughout Australia. The Foundation is committed to building research capacity in Australia, to ensure children with cancer across the country have access to world-class treatment and established the Victorian Paediatric Cancer Consortium (VPCC Ltd) in 2021. The Consortium has brought together the brightest minds from leading children’s hospitals, research institutes and universities, to undertake cutting-edge research and tackle childhood cancer.

An impactful visual, representing the many children and families who have been impacted by brain cancer. We will continue to raise and invest funds for better treatments for children so they can survive and thrive 💛
Yesterday our CEO Robyn Strong represented ANZCHOG at the Brain Tumour Alliance Australia's Head to the Hill event, held at Parliament House in Canberra. This annual event is an opportunity for the Australian brain tumour community to come together, raise awareness, connect with decision-makers and advocate for action. Hundreds of pairs of shoes, and the stories of their wearers, were placed throughout the courtyard to symbolise the impact of a disease that can affect anybody, regardless of age, gender, background or habits. Brain cancer kills more children in Australia than any other disease 😔 Below is a photo of the children's shoes. . . . This is our why. #clinicaltrials #cancerresearch #childrenscancer

We have to confess, self-promotion isn’t our strong suit. As a small team backed by a dedicated board, we often find ourselves immersed in the 'doing'. However, we’d like to take a moment to reflect on this... We established a consortium. We brought together leading children's hospitals, research institutions, and universities to collaborate, innovate, and improve childhood cancer treatment. Thanks to our efforts, the VPCC has secured $54.6 million in funding that will extend through 2029. We wanted to change the system in a fundamental way, we’re making this happen, and we’re hopeful for what is to come. Hon. This National Children's Week, we proudly join others across the country to embrace the theme: ‘Children have the right to a clean and safe environment.’ As a leader in the fight against childhood cancer, we want to see all children thriving, happy, and reaching their full potential, and we’re working hard to ensure young people aren’t left behind when it comes to safer cancer treatments and cures. We know more needs to be done for our kids and we are being quite BOLD (in the best possible way) to create better outcomes. Dream big this Children’s Week. #childrensweek
