‼️New research from our group in Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology - In Practice. This is the first of a series of projects we look forward to sharing in 2025 that investigate oral immunotherapy for 🥚 egg #allergy. 💰 We found that cost-effectiveness of egg oral #immunotherapy in children improves with increasing age, and is most cost-effective in late primary school. 👧 This is primarily due to the majority of young children growing out of their egg allergy, suggesting “watch and wait” might be a more economically appropriate strategy in early childhood. NACE drug allergy PhD Scholar Elise Mitri finds inpatient penicillin allergy delabelling in a pharmacist-led program is safe, effective and sustainable. Her study, published in CMI Communications this week, evaluated 477 adult inpatients with a penicillin allergy label at a Melbourne tertiary referral health service, for more than three years.
