Lights, camera, action A shout out to the Nextt clients and disability support workers who took a step away from the every day recently to star in some of our new videos. We appreciate that many invited us into their homes, some even introduced us to their pets – and we got out and about town with others. So many stories were shared… it was a great couple of days. Nextt really values the long-term relationships we have with so many disability support workers and clients. On average, clients remain with Nextt for an impressive seven years.

Nextt started around 20 years ago as a small company providing in-home care. Since then, through hard work, client growth and the acquisition of businesses, we have expanded the range of services we provide as well as the breadth of skills of our staff. We have built a strong specialisation in supporting people with Autism, Intellectual Disability, Mental Health and other cognitive support needs. Our focus is on person-centred active support to assist each person to get more out of life. Nextt has moved away from the traditional model of care by providing leading programs and individualised services that help people with disability to meet their goals and become more independent. Nextt is well known for the warmth and passion of our staff, and for our well-researched and evidence-based programs available to people of all ages. Today #TeamNextt was joined by sporting icon and Paralympian David Hall, for International Day of People with Disability 🥇👩🦽 Reaching No.1 in the world for wheelchair tennis and winning multiple major titles and Paralympic gold, silver and bronze medals, David put in the hard work to get where he is today. With bumps along the way, David's positive attitude and perseverance pushed him to do things he never thought possible, including the Australian Sport Hall of Fame and Tennis Hall of Fame. David Hall shared his story with us and a message of encouragement to all those who may feel a little lost and are looking for guidance. We are grateful to observe this day with a sporting legend! #IDPWD #WheelchairTennis

Nextt partners with so many people in our quest to help individuals get more out of life – from Specialist Disability Accommodation providers and support coordinators to some pretty unique partners like illustrator Cat MacInnes. Reflecting our company value of ‘creative’, we wanted to bring many of our client’s goals to life visually. Nextt uses a digital platform to work alongside clients to develop and track their goals, ensuring our services adapt to their changing needs. Regular check-ins ensure we're aligned with their expectations. Complex Behaviours and Positive Change 🧩 Supporting clients with complex or challenging behaviours is a key part of Nextt’s services. We’re committed to ensuring safety while fostering empowerment and skill-building through positive behaviour support frameworks, working with clients and their behaviour support practitioners. Our focus is on improving quality of life, while reducing restrictive practices. Nextt team members are trained in identifying and understanding the impact of restrictive practices, and we regularly monitor and review these practices for compliance and effectiveness. Our dedication to training, plan implementation, skill development, capacity building, and quality of life has contributed to a significant 63 per cent reduction or cessation of restrictive practices among clients who have undergone a plan review.
