Empowering Future Careers through Work-Based Learning Opportunities! At Northern Mallee Local Learning & Employment Network (NMLLEN), we believe in bridging the gap between classroom learning and the real world. The Work-Based Learning (WBL) programs are designed to provide students with hands-on skills, industry connections, and a clearer pathway to career success. Our School to Work (STW) Program includes: Work Experience (WE): Year 10-12 students can explore careers through 1-2 week placements, gaining insight into their fields of interest and shaping their future career plans. Structured Workplace Learning (SWL): Students studying VET subjects in Year 10-12 actively participate in workplace settings, building specific industry skills aligned with their studies. SWL offers flexible options like one day per week or week-long blocks. School Based Apprenticeship/Traineeship (SBAT): Combine school, part-time work, and training to achieve a nationally recognised qualification while attending school. SBAT allows students to gain practical experience and training simultaneously. Benefits of Work-Based Learning: Develops real-world skills Builds industry connections and networks Supports career planning and employment pathways Provides businesses with the opportunity to mentor and inspire young talent Let’s invest in the future by supporting and participating in WBL programs. Together, we can build a stronger and more capable workforce!
