Powered by 100% renewable energy, this is South Australia’s first 6-Star-Green-Star designed medical building, and has been funded through our NZX-listed Vital Healthcare Property Trust (VHP), managed by Northwest. The specialist medical hub includes comprehensive cancer care services, a full range of diagnostic services and access to specialists across the areas of cardiology, respiratory and sleep, ear nose and throat, orthopaedics, general medicine and surgery. Our NZX-listed fund, Vital Healthcare Property Trust, has reported its Half Year results which include a 4.0% increase in like-for-like net property income Over 47,000 square metres of space leased, extended or renewed, representing 21% of Vital’s portfolio (by income). Leasing helped maintain occupancy at ~98%, extending Vital’s already long weighted average lease expiry (WALE) to 19.1 years and contributed to net property income growth. New Zealand’s Minister of Health the Hon Simeon Brown officially opened stage 2 of the redevelopment of Wakefield Hospital in Wellington yesterday with Evolution’s Chair Simon Pickering, Group CEO Simon Keating, the Hospital’s CEO Michael Quirke, General Manager Carole Kaffes, with other representatives from Evolution’s shareholders, staff and board also in attendance.   This key asset of our NZX-listed Vital Healthcare Property Trust (VHP), managed by Northwest, is operated by Evolution Healthcare, and is valued at over NZ$180m. In attendance representing Northwest and Vital were Chris Adams, Co-Head A/NZ Region Northwest, Aaron Hockly, Senior Vice President NZ and Fund Manager Vital, Kirsty Bowyer, Vice President Development, and Sophie Benfell-Brinsden, Asset Manager.

We are thrilled to announce that our new integrated cancer centre at Campbelltown, developed through our NZX-listed Vital Healthcare Property Trust (VHP), managed by Northwest, has achieved a 6 Star Design & As Built v1.3 certified rating from the Green Building Council of Australia. The GenesisCare Comprehensive Cancer Centre is the first stage of the Macarthur Health Precinct, delivering state-of-the-art and much needed healthcare services in south-west Sydney. This marks the first asset within Vital’s portfolio to achieve 6 Star Green Star certification and demonstrates our commitment to leadership in sustainable healthcare real estate. The development also won the award for “Excellence in Sustainability – Commercial Category” at the Master Builders Association of New South Wales 2024 Awards. Thanks to our partners at GenesisCare, Campbelltown City Council, Erilyan and Team2 Architects for a great collaborative effort in achieving this important milestone. The Macarthur Health Precinct is unrivalled in its design and sustainability credentials and is Australia’s first health precinct to be registered as a Green Star Community.

Earlier this month, we joined global and local industry leaders at the Informa Connect Australia National Health and Innovation Precincts Summit, where we showcased our $154m investment in RDX and Lumina Gold Coast. The Summit started with Discovery Day, where delegates witnessed the scale of RDX and its prominence in the precinct (image 1). The tour also provided a unique opportunity to showcase the Northwest supported temporary NeuTex Image Guided Surgical and Robotics Training Centre with the leading Dr Hal Rice and Dr Laetitia de Villiers, before it moves into RDX (image 2). Alex Belcastro, Northwest’s Senior Vice President, Development and Precincts, delved into the investment dynamics in life sciences learnt out of RDX (image 3), while Georgie Huxley, Northwest’s Vice President Leasing, explored transformative partnership models, drawing on Northwest’s experience at the Playford Health Hub in Adelaide with Calvary Health Care and SA Health (image 4). Minister Andrew Powell MP GAICD inspired us with his vision of Queensland as a global leader in innovation and science including joining delegates at dinner (image 5). Over recent weeks our teams in Melbourne, Sydney and Auckland volunteered at Foodbank Victoria, ReLove in Sydney and Ambury Park Centre in Auckland. Our Melbourne office team picked, packed and sorted an abundance of apples for Foodbank. It was a fantastic team effort to make a meaningful impact to those in need. Foodbank is the largest hunger relief charity in Australia. They are the pantry to the charity sector, linking surplus food and groceries to people in need. Foodbank not only plays a lead role in fighting hunger, but also a vitally important role in tackling Australia’s $36.6 billion food waste problem. The Northwest Sydney office team spent their volunteering day at ReLove in Alexandria, Sydney. ReLove helps create homes for people in our community who need a helping hand. They rescue furniture and household goods from companies, corporate relocations and community and direct it to people when they need it most. The team fulfilled client’s furniture shopping lists and delivered the items to their new homes. Our Auckland office team volunteered at Ambury Park Centre, a horse-riding therapy centre for people with disabilities. After a tour of the grounds and an introduction to the incredible work the Centre does—including meeting some of their beautiful horses—the team weeded and landscaped the gardens, ensuring a welcoming environment for all visitors. We also donated gardening tools to make future volunteer efforts easier. We thank all organisations for hosting us and for the amazing work they do in our communities. We look forward to continuing to support our local communities to make a difference. #wecare #volunteering #community
