Today marks International Day of People with Disability, promoting community awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with disability. We were proud to host guest speakers, Donna Purcell (Disability Advocate), Associate Professor Shane Clifton (University of Sydney), and Andreas Heger (NSW Bar Association), last week to hear about their lived experiences and how to create a more inclusive workplace. Inspiring and insightful, their discussion ranged from how to remove barriers in the workplace to the importance of mentors and champions for people with disability. #NSWCrownSolicitorsOffice #Inclusion #Accessibility #Leadership #IDPWD #InternationalDayOfPeopleWithDisability

With the passage of the Privacy and Other Legislation Amendment Bill 2024 by the Commonwealth Parliament, a new statutory tort for serious invasions of privacy will soon enter Australian law. The provisions of the Bill concerning this new tort will confer on an individual a cause of action for serious invasions of privacy. It will take some time for its effects on public administration to become clear. Find out more in our latest legal alert: https://lnkd.in/gwStMuz9 #NSWGovernment #LegalUpdates #AustralianLaw

We recently participated in a joint initiative with NSW Department of Communities and Justice and Supreme Court of New South Wales to deliver ‘Partnerships and principals in adoption practice’, a one-day seminar. The event had over 100 attendees, and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with many commenting that the seminar was ‘outstanding’, ‘really helpful and positive’, and ‘valuable opportunity to hear from different perspectives’. Congratulations to all involved in pulling together such a successful event!👏 #NSWCrownSolicitorsOffice #Seminar #Event #Adoption #OOHC #NSWLaw
