Orora completes portfolio simplification and focuses on cost reductions to offset challenging market conditions    Commenting on the results, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Brian Lowe said: “Market conditions remain challenging globally. Against this backdrop, the Group reported EBIT of $120.8m, up 24.6%, driven by the inclusion of six months of Saverglass earnings, compared to one month in the pcp.   “In the first half of FY25 we continued to transform the Orora Group, simplifying our portfolio through the sale of the OPS business as well as the sale of the Closures business. Orora has commenced operation of one of Australia’s most sustainable wine glass furnaces in Gawler, South Australia.   The newly rebuilt furnace is powered in part by oxyfuel technology drawn from our very own onsite oxygen plant. This exciting step moves our furnace into the top 10% of energy efficient furnaces worldwide.   By combining an increasing amount of recycled cullet from our beneficiation plant together with our new oxygen-fuelled furnace, we’ll deliver even more sustainable, lower carbon glass containers for our customers.   Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gpjnSYJx

Orora has committed to a significant ~$130M investment to expand production capacity at its Rocklea facility in Queensland, supporting increased demand for 375ml classic-sized cans.    The Rocklea expansion, in combination with recent and ongoing projects, will increase Cans capacity by more than 30%. The new line will feature advanced decoration and quality systems, as well as lightweight can body production capabilities.    This investment underscores Orora’s dedication to innovation, sustainability, and supporting its customers’ success in an ever-evolving market.   Read more: https://lnkd.in/gS64VB_y
