We must amplify our voices and advocate for solutions that protect both our children and our planet. 💡 Join us at “Calling All Parents!” to hear inspiring discussions on how families can lead the charge for bold climate action. 🔍 New Research Reveals Alarming Impacts of Rising Costs on Aussie Families 📈 Parents for Climate's latest report with the Climate Council, #UnderPressure, shows how oil and gas prices are not only adding to climate pollution but are also driving up household expenses for Australian families. From groceries and energy bills to insurance, new research reveals families are facing tough choices, with 53% cutting back on food and 66% struggling to heat or cool their homes. 🍎🏠 Nic Seton, CEO of Parents for Climate, says, “Our kids’ health and wellbeing are on the line as families face impossible trade-offs.” Yet there’s hope for change 🌱 . This report highlights that parents strongly support climate solutions, like solar, batteries, and efficient appliances, as affordable steps to cut costs and ease pressure. Suzie Brown says "The only way to feel better about this darned ecological crisis is to take action together with others!" We ❤️ these reflections from the amazing mum/ climate warrior Suzie Brown on her local Parents for Climate group. Also l😍ving the kids creativity in recreating our logo, great 🙌 job. Read Suzie's words below👇: "Parents for Climate newest local group, Central Coast (NSW), has grown rapidly since our launch in August. We now have 10 active group leaders/members and a local mailing list of 300+. Last Sunday we did an all-day stall at the Woytopia sustainable living festival in Woy Woy and gathered 220 new subscribers through a petition to the Central Coast Council demanding that they do a Climate Action Plan. (Can you believe they don’t even have one? 🤔 Our council has been in administration for 7 years!). Last month at a picnic event we had our kids write & design a poster letter to each MP and the Council and we all signed it asking to meet with them - meetings coming up soon ! Know anyone in the NSW Central Coast (main towns are Gosford, Woy Woy, Terrigal, The Entrance, Wyong)? Put them onto us! https://lnkd.in/g7twq_4H " #collectiveaction #bettertogether #climatecommunity #activehope #familypoweredclimateaction Glen Barry
