  • “Festivals are at their best when they infiltrate places that have character, places that have stories, rather than those kind of pop-up sites,” she says. “When you scratch the surface in Western Australia, there’s just so much to celebrate and so many stories to tell, and the power station is one of those places. Brilliant words from Anna Reece and a great article about our new Festival Hub! https://lnkd.in/g_2k9jxR

  • Perth Festival 2025 has begun with an incredible weekend of immersive events to entice and delight Perth audiences! Whether it's a first look at the reinvigorated East Perth Power Station and its global musical offerings, venturing to His Majesty’s Theatre to immerse in the opulent storytelling of Mahabharata, or discovering your new favourite artists through the Boorloo Contemporary exhibitions - our Festival features a diverse mix of music, theatre and visual art, promising something for everyone. Across the next 24 days audiences can discover 104 different events - 64 of which are free - in a Festival that always aims to surprise and delight. Featuring over 380 artists, including 143 international artists and 173 local West Australian artists, Artistic Director Anna Reece is thrilled to be opening the first of her four Festival seasons. Perth Festival Artistic Director Anna Reece said: “It’s been over 18 months of dreaming, planning, and pulling it all together, and now—here we are. A game changing Festival for my hometown that I know our city is ready for. “A Festival that is so proudly Western Australian—in the stories we tell and the places we take over. Backyards, beaches, parks, rivers, iconic buildings, old haunts as well as our beautiful theatres. All places that hold memories and meaning, transformed by artists and audiences coming together.” See you there!
