Identifying a need for compliance-based training amongst building practitioners, particularly in regional and remote areas across Australia, the original Pointsbuild learning platform was launched in 2007 as Australia’s first approved Continuing Professional Development (‘CPD’) training provider for the industry. In the intervening years, we have grown into the leading provider of online CPD education and training services for construction and building professionals across Australia and have since expanded our offering into the allied health, association, public and social services sectors. As technology and accessibility has evolved, so too has our ability to develop engaging and essential CPD training that extends the educational reach of our partners whilst enabling professionals to grow their skills and expertise from anywhere, at any time.

We are very excited to share the official commencement of our latest new project, the APY Lands Pilot after 12 months of hard work and dedication from the project team. Whilst Aboriginal people have lived on this Country for tens of thousands of years, temperature extremes and associated severe thermal stresses have become more pronounced and are compounded by complex social and logistical challenges. With broader climate extremes and overall hotter summers predicted for the future, how people are living and maintaining healthy communities in Country is of growing concern. Aboriginal community housing in South Australia’s remote APY Lands will be retrofitted in an innovative pilot project to improve energy efficiency, living conditions and health in the harsh and variable desert climate. Led by UniSA, the partners will work with the APY community in Indulkana to modify a small group of houses, providing a framework for energy efficient upgrades across the remainder of the APY Lands, as well as other remote areas across Australia.
