About us
Police Bank is a secure, modern financial institution offering access to a wide range of products and services through enhanced delivery channels combined with a discounted fee structure. The organisation originally started as NSW Police Credit Union (PCU) in the early 1960′s when a group of Police Officers at Clarence Street Police Station in Sydney had the vision of forming a mutual organisation for the benefit of all Officers. PCU was officially registered and opened for business in 1964 with just 60 Members. Today, with over $1.7 Billion in assets, Police Bank has grown to be one of Australia’s largest Mutual Banks serving the financial needs of the NSW Police Service, their families and other related industries. It’s a fantastic time to join us as we go on a journey of digital transformation. At Police Bank we want to empower you to make a real difference in your career, for our team and our members. Last week Police Bank celebrated 60 incredible years of serving and supporting our policing community. Founded by police officers for police officers, our journey began with a simple mission: to provide financial services to those who serve and protect. It’s been an amazing journey, and none of it would have been possible without our dedicated members, staff, and partners. We’re committed to continuing our mission of serving those who serve and protect our community with their financial needs. Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate this milestone. Here’s to another 60 years of partnership, progress, and community!

It was an honour to attend the 2024 Police Officer of the Year Awards last week, celebrating the extraordinary dedication and service of our brave officers. As proud platinum sponsors, Police Bank’s Peter Remfrey had the privilege of presenting the NSW Police Officer of the Year award alongside NSW Police Commissioner Karen Webb APM. This year’s overall award went to Senior Constable Alison Stewart, recognised for her outstanding charity work with Backpack Venture, an impressive 36-year career in regional policing, and her dedication to supporting youth in her local community. As a member-owned bank committed to giving back to our police family, we’re reminded by moments like these of the profound impact our officers have. We’re proud to stand by those who protect and serve every day. Congratulations to Senior Constable Alison and all the other incredible award recipients!

Last week, our Head Of Partnerships and Engagement, Boyd Stewart, had the honour of joining Superintendent Chris Schilt and the team for the latest Operational Readiness training. We're proud to support our NSW Police Officers, staff, and their families with a focus on mental wellness and ongoing support.
Mental Wellness Advocate,Keynote Speaker & Trainer. Cross of Valour (CV) recipient. Delivering practical, proactive programs to help improve psychological health across Australia
The North Coast of NSW was our Operational Readiness training ground this week, focusing on Coffs Clarence Command on Tuesday and finishing at Manning Great Lakes yesterday. It was great to catch up with Superintendent Chris Schilt, whom I have had a long standing friendship through the NSW Police Boxing team. Our intentions remain stronger than ever to help our NSW Police Force Officers, the unsworn staff who support them and their families who stand by them. Working with Police psychologist Rachel Hart, Ian Johnstone from the Police Association of New South Wales and Boyd Stewart from Police Bank Ltd. is a dynamic and proactive experience. In NSW, 1 in 5 people experience a mental health issue each year, and over half of us will face mental health challenges at some point in our lives. This #WorldMentalHealthDay, let’s highlight the importance of mental wellbeing for all. Whether it’s a family member, friend, or colleague, take a moment to check in and offer support. A special thanks to the NSWPF Mental Health Intervention Team for their tireless work in ensuring the mental health needs of our community are met. They are experts at the intersection of health and policing, providing essential care when it’s needed most 💙 #WorldMentalHealthDay #SupportOurHeroes

What an incredible showcase of sportsmanship and talent at this year’s Police and Emergency Games. Police Bank’s Dave Hudson, Robert Redfern, and Boyd Stewart were on hand to support our officers at the launch, with Rob & Boyd taking up the invitation from the NSW Police Golf Club to participate in the first round of the golf tournament. We’re proud to stand by officers and emergency workers supporting their health and wellbeing through social sports.
