An innovative healthtech & services company improving the mental fitness of Australians.
About us
Prime Effect is an innovative Health Tech & Services company improving the mental health and performance of Australians. We present evidence-based training in a F2F, online, or digital format. We ensure training and support is delivered in a fun and relatable way, that allows it to have the right impact. We do this by combining the high engagement of Australia's favourite sporting stars with the expertise of allied health professionals. By normalising the conversation around mental health, it is less complicated and less overwhelming for people to absorb new skills and strategies to build their own mental fitness, helping them feel and perform their best. We build an understanding of dual accountability between staff and the workplace in regards to mental health and performance, making this bi-directional relationship clear. Individuals need have a toolkit of personal strategies to use to manage their health, and be deliberate in using them to help them manage their workload. Workplaces also need to provide the right training to teams to help them mange those inevitable interaction's they'll have with each other that can often cause issues. Topics like conflict management, giving & receiving feedback, and stress regulation should be a normal everyday practice that benefits, not disrupts, a workplace. Using the experience of current and former elite athletes, we uncover what helped them achieve their success, handle those inevitable setbacks, and back it with evidence-based content & programs. Our Athlete Ambassadors include NRL stars, Rugby Unions Stars, AFL Stars, Olympians and Paralympians. Popular topics we present on include - mental health, mental fitness, stress regulation, energy & motivation, navigating setbacks, managing conflict, leadership, communication, healthy boundaries, working in teams, making change, and more. Human triumph is what we strive for.

We're stoked that our digital #psychosocial #safety training program won the Best Health and Safety Training award at the 2023 LearnX Platinum Awards! 🥇🥳 Our visionary founder David Shillington developed the program in response to governments around Australia introducing a new Code to help support workplaces reduce psychological harm in the workplace. With the rise of workers' compensation claims and mental health conditions generally, Dave knew we could be part of the solution and foster positive change. Enter: Be Buoyant. 🛟🛟 Partnering with experts at VMP e-Learning, we were able to bring our unique training style into a digital format that would help workplaces access the information they need to support their people - without barriers, with high engagement. 📈 👏 How can Be Buoyant help your workplace? ✅ Super easy to implement: it's a digital training program that integrates straight into your workplace EMS, or it can be hosted on the Prime Effect app. ✅ It focuses on the key topics that help to reduce psychosocial hazards in the workplace, working to reduce conflict and stress amongst employees. ✅ It's a 2.5-hour program divided into 8 modules that can be delivered as a structured program or self-paced: it's a flexible format to suit your workforce. ✅ Developed by experts and now an award-winning program, so you can be confident that you're working towards the best outcomes for your people! 🐰 Who can you say thank you to this Easter? 🙏 Let’s use this mini-break to take a moment to reflect on the incredible individuals who have supported us along our journey. Our good friend and former Rugby Australia Wallabies captain, former head coach of Easts Rugby Union and current assistant coach of the ACT Brumbies, Ben Mowen, shares his insights on the pivotal role of thanking others who help us achieve success. 🏉 🏆 In his own words, Ben emphasises how simple gestures like sending a text or leaving a voicemail have made a profound impact on his career and personal growth. It's a great reminder that expressing gratitude and acknowledging the contributions of others can strengthen our relationships and cultivate resilience, knowing that others believe in us! 📲 💪 Who will you thank this Easter? Share your thanks to someone in the comments below! 🌷 #25days25plays #gratitude #mentalwellbeing #mindfulness #resilience David Shillington

We loved delivering an all-abilities version of our Match Fit jobseeker program this week, with guest presenter National Rugby League Women's star Jasmin Peters delivering alongside our program regulars David Shillington and Tim Elvery. The all-abilities format allows participants to apply the skills they learn in the theory sessions to a real team environment that’s integrated with physical movement. Applying effective communication, fostering mateship in new environments and building confidence and motivation to enter the workforce are all great outcomes of this dynamic program. Thanks to Mackay Brothers for hosting us at your exceptional venue and to our wonderful regional partners! AimBig Employment IntoJobs Workforce Australia Local Jobs - Mackay

Today was an awesome day down in the nation’s capital, with David Shillington and former Canberra Raiders captain Jarrod Croker taking Marist College Canberra through our signature #mentalfitness workshop! 🚀 The theme of the workshop was to take a proactive approach to mental health, using daily tools to make an impact. Crokes shared his personal experiences in managing pressure, having good people around him and not letting the 'small stuff' bother him. To finish, the former teammates linked together the importance of working on social connections, inclusivity, communication and physical exercise. 🤸♀️ 🤝 At Prime Effect, we recognise the complex landscape of today's educational settings, where students, teachers, and support staff encounter unique challenges daily. That's why we partner with schools and universities to provide comprehensive mental health and well-being training tailored to meet their specific needs. #schoolmentalhealth #educationempowerment #learninganddevelopment #mentalhealthawareness #sportpsychology

Sports stars aren’t lucky, they’re champions at overcoming setbacks. Developing life skills for positive mental health is something that every single person has to work for, everyday. ⛑🏃♀️🏆 Our Founder, David Shillington, has always found inspiration in presenting alongside the incredible Libby Trickett and hearing her views on negative self-talk and how that can impact performance and achieving goals. In today’s play, we hear from four-time Olympic swimming gold medallist Libby Trickett, whose contribution to the community and mental health advocacy in her post-sporting career, is as remarkable as her contribution to Australian sport. 🏊♀️🇦🇺 Libby emphasises the power of cultivating a resilient mindset through positive self-talk, to help us achieve goals and overcome setbacks more easily: a strategy that transcends the boundaries of sport and applies to everyday life, no matter who you are! 😇 🙌 Accompanied by daily activities, the 25 Days 25 Plays program is a #fun way to engage employees and enhance the #mentalfitness of your entire workforce.
