This 4226m2 of mechanically polished high gloss concrete across Woolworths and Dan Murphy’s for Burwood Brickworks saw some fantastic results! Burwood Brickworks was the first of its kind as a retail centre that was part of the Living Building Challenge — the world’s most rigorous performance standard for building. ProGrind installed our proprietary Mechanical Polished Concrete system which resulted in only a 3% VOC content from start to finish in the process. This is a 50% reduction on what is permissible for the products allowable for the type of finish under this code. The project helped Burwood Brickworks achieve a 6-Star Green Star Design and As-Built rating as well as full certification (7 petals) under the Living Building Challenge (LBC) accreditation. The first retail development in the world to achieve this internationally recognised certification – meeting the requirements of net zero energy, waste, and water. A few years back, ProGrind completed 11,000m2 of mechanically polished concrete – mid exposure – low gloss for Myer HQ in just 3 months. Many years later, it’s still an exceptional durable floor that compliments Myer’s high-end brand personality.

Large retail floors are a challenge the ProGrind team is built for 💪 The team completed a combined 6,700m2 of decorative high gloss mechanically polished concrete for this retail centre’s walkways as well as a water-based P3 coating in the food and beverage areas for DFO, Perth Airport. A gorgeous, hard-wearing, and durable mechanically polished floor to match the high-traffic retail shopping experience!

Project Highlight: 100 Queen St, Melbourne CBD The ProGrind floor coverings team completed a total of 1,560m2 which comprised of: • 300m2 of custom EGE carpet from RC&D • 60m2 of Armstrong Sheet Vinyl • 1200m2 of engineered timber flooring Working closely with Buildcorp, ProGrind delivered a stunning level 1 & 2 flooring fitout for 100 Queen Street in Melbourne’s CBD. ProGrind supplied and installed custom-made carpet, sheet vinyl and engineered timber to complement the varying spaces (meeting rooms, shared offices, café, and communal spaces). As such, this multi-disciplinary project required ProGrind’s expertise and high-quality workmanship to ensure a seamless transition between the different flooring types and an overall cohesive finish. The completion of this attractive, harmonious, and versatile shared hub space is one the team is proud of. 2024 will be seeing a lot more stunning projects from ProGrind!
