  • 📣This International Day of People with Disability, we acknowledge the theme "Amplifying the leadership of persons with disabilities for an inclusive and sustainable future." Today, we celebrate the incredible partnerships between Disability Employment Service (DES) providers and employers, working together to build inclusive workplaces where people with disability thrive. While the unemployment rate for people with disability has improved, at 7.3%, (down from 10.3% in 2018) it remains too high – more than double the rate for people without disability (3.1%). DES providers and employers are working together to embrace the unique perspectives and diversity that comes from hiring people with disability. It’s not just about creating jobs, it’s about creating meaningful and sustainable employment that benefits both the individual and the organisation. #IDPwD2024 #DisabilityInclusion #DisabilityEmployment Disability Employment Australia
