Welcome to Pure Land Home Hospice. We are currently in our ‘Pilot Phase’, but stay posted! We will be fully later this year. The nurses and volunteers of Pure Land Home Hospice support people and their families with life-limiting conditions, and at the end of life. They can assist you, free of charge, in living out your life in the way you wish and remaining at home in comfort, knowing you will have 24/7 support available at the end of the phone. What an incredible time we had yesterday at the Pure Land end-of-year celebration! It was a heartfelt occasion to express our deepest gratitude to our amazing Volunteers, Foundation Friends, Board Members, Partners, and Contributors. Our community is flourishing like never before—this year alone, we’ve grown to nearly 100 passionate supporters. It’s truly humbling to see such an extraordinary group of people coming together, united by a shared vision and dedication to making a difference. We feel so fortunate to have each and every one of you by our side, and we can’t wait to see what we will achieve together in the coming year. Thank you for being the heart of Pure Land!

A wonderful story on our very own Jan McGregor from Palliative Care Australia .
When her mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer, Jan McGregor quickly recognised the shortfall in the care her mother was receiving - far removed from what she believes a 'good death' should be. Heartbroken at the thought of her mother’s life ending this way, Jan made the decision to bring her home, where she personally cared for her during her final days. Though challenging, Jan says caring for her mother through death was a “deeply rewarding experience.” It's an experience that has shaped Jan's drive to establish Pure Land of Amitabha Buddha Hospice in South Australia. This latest instalment in our People of Palliative Care series is a tribute to the roll community can play in the delivery of palliative care, read on ➡️ https://ow.ly/V0NS50TO2qq

One of the most beautiful offerings at the 'Death Festival' @centennialparkcemetery was the children's sessions. A heartwarming moment was when a 9-year-old girl asked her mum on the way home, "Mum, can we go to the death festival again next week?" I was deeply moved when I met a mother whose husband had recently passed. She brought her young son, and she was so grateful to have this gentle space where he could express his feelings through stories and art. It was a reminder of the importance of creating such spaces. We even talked about organising a dedicated session next year for children and teens who have experienced the loss of a sibling or parent. #DeathFestival #ChildrensGriefSupport #HealingThroughArt #CompassionateCommunity #EndOfLifeCare #GriefHealing #SupportForFamilies #MindfulGrieving #DeathAwareness #HolisticHealing

The Pure Land Death Festival was a great success, with over 370 bookings for our inaugural event. Many of the attendees participated in multiple sessions, and from the feedback we've received so far—both on the day and in the evaluations—it's clear that the festival had a meaningful impact on many South Australians. A heartfelt thank you to @Centennial Park Cemetery for partnering with us and offering such a beautiful venue for this event. #PureLandDeathFestival #CommunitySupport #EndOfLifeCare #CentennialParkCemetery #SouthAustralia #GriefSupport #MindfulLiving #CompassionateCare #WellnessFestival #HolisticHealth
