In celebration of International Women's Day 2025 we spoke to Annaliese, our RACV Torquay Resort Operations Manager. 📢 Tell us about yourself and your role at RACV: "I have been very lucky to be working at RACV for the past 15 years. I joined the organisation shortly after completing my Commerce degree, when RACV was starting the construction of RACV's Torquay Resort. I started as an Admin Officer and F&B Attendant, gradually working my way up to Admin Manager at Torquay Resort. Over time, I took on the added responsibility of managing both the Torquay and Cape Schanck Resorts, before recently transitioning into the role of Operations Manager." 📢 What's a valuable piece of advice you can pass on, especially to women trying to establish their careers? "Say yes to new opportunities. Don't be afraid to take on challenges, even when they feel intimidating at first. Often, stepping out of your comfort zone leads to the most growth and rewarding experiences." 📢 If you could have a superpower for work, what would it be and why? "Decision Superpower – It would be SO amazing to have the ability to instantly make the best possible decision by instantly processing all potential outcomes and variables." #IWD2025 #teamRACV

Sometimes “old school” gadgets are a simple way to protect against theft. The Herald Sun reported many Victorians are turning back to antitheft devices such as steering wheel locks and anti-theft one way number plate screws.   RACV recommends if you do use a steering wheel lock, ensure it is safely stored before you drive so it’s not a hazard while driving.   RACV partners with Neighbourhood Watch Victoria to support Safe Plate days. Have your one-way screws fitted to secure your number plates and reduce the risk of your number plates being stolen. Safe Plate Days are being held in Monash and Manningham over the coming weeks. RACV employees gathered ahead of International Women’s Day this weekend for a conversation with Andrea Pearman, CEO Netball Victoria, facilitated by Mardi Nowak, RACV Head of Visual Arts.    Andrea shared her career journey, highlighting her transition from IT to marketing and sponsorship, and eventually to community investment and corporate social responsibility, emphasising the importance of aligning work with personal values and the impact of sport as a platform for social change.    They encouraged individuals to find ways to contribute to diversity and inclusion efforts, even via small actions.   Also discussed was actively seeking out and incorporating diverse perspectives in various aspects of work and community life, recognising the value of different viewpoints in fostering innovation and inclusivity. Andrea encouraged individuals to recognise and address their biases and suggested creating activities that promote engagement with diverse groups to help shift attitudes and behaviours.   When asked one piece of advice Andrea would give to children to help foster inclusion and diversity, she put it simply.   “Just be a kind person.”   RACV partners with Netball Victoria to deliver grassroots programs that provide better access and opportunities for First Nations, multicultural and LGBTQ+ communities to participate in netball across Victoria.
