The team heard from REA experts on topics ranging from Artificial Intelligence to economics, they celebrated their fantastic engagement results and reflected on the highlights of another successful year. The group also kicked up their heels with a bit of line dancing! Yee-haw! REA Group General Manager - Audience & Marketing, Sarah Myers, said between launching successful brand campaigns, hitting new audience records and inspiring Australians to 'keep moving' on their property journey, 2024 has been a huge year for the team. Sarah commented: "Our end of year offsite was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the year, to learn from each other, and to have some well-deserved fun along the way. New research from realestate.com.au has revealed valuable insights into the minds of buyers and renters when they’re in the midst of moving. The Movers Research, conducted by Starburst Insights, is an independent market research study of more than 1,600 Australians commissioned to understand the motives of Australian movers. 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 🏡 Two in three movers reviewed their lifestyle, started fresh routines, or experienced something new when relocating. 🚗 One in five people said they either started a new hobby, got a new credit card, or bought a new car. 🔨 One in two owners took the opportunity to renovate, with realestate.com.au used by almost one in three for styling and inspiration. 🖥️ Two thirds started their research online before moving in. 💰 Two in three said the move prompted them to take stock of their finances. REA Group National Sales Director (Media), Rob Hudson, said: "The Movers Research underscores the dynamic nature of the moving market in Australia. The findings provide valuable insight into the attitudes of movers and can help our customers effectively tailor their advertising strategies based on different stages of the moving journey." Our Consumer Product & Experience teams recently gathered in our Melbourne office for an in-person Town Hall. The theme was "Grillin’ for Greatness", and it was a sizzling success, firing up some fun, recognition, and invaluable insights. Executive General Manager, Consumer Product, Jonathan Swift, kicked us off with a talk on courage over comfort, sharing his personal insights and emphasising team work and curiosity. An expert panel turned up the heat with a deep dive into trends and challenges, providing everyone in the room an opportunity to learn more about our business. New starters were welcomed, long-timers were acknowledged and recent promotions were celebrated. The day sparked new ideas, and left us feeling fired up and ready to go. 🔥 #experienceREA

Last week we hosted the News Corp Global Women in Tech conference in our Sydney offices, bringing together women from Foxtel Group, News Corp Australia and REA Group for a half-day workshop. The session, led by Simon Banks from Visualfunk, was built around the theme ‘Disruption by Design’ exploring innovative ways to develop, prototype and test ideas. From developing empathy maps to getting hands on with craft, Simon’s techniques had the group opening their minds, sharing bold ideas and using creativity to develop tech solutions. It was wonderful to host such an engaged group at REA. Thank you to News Corp Australia’s Women in Tech network for making the event such a success. #experienceREA
