On Saturday, Reconciliation Victoria’s members and supporters came together at Djerring Flemington Hub for our Annual Forum and AGM. It was a wonderful day celebrating the year that was and looking forward to a very busy and exciting 2025! A highlight was our Forum featuring Sue-Anne Hunter (Yoorrook Justice Commission), Rueben Berg (First Peoples' Assembly of Victoria) and Duean White (Treaty Authority). Moderated by Rec Vic's dear friend Uncle Charles Pakana (Victorian Aboriginal News), the panel spoke to how Treaty and truth-telling are intrinsically linked to reconciliation - and how Victoria is leading the way! We are grateful to our amazing panelists and Uncle Charles for sharing their insights, and to Colin Hunter IV for a heartfelt Welcome to Country. Thank you to all who attended on the day and to our partners and sponsors who make our work possible. If you’re not currently a Rec Vic member, please join us and support our mission to bravely lead reconciliation in Victoria - https://lnkd.in/gceTiyU7 ANTAR Victoria Andrew Gunstone Keith Gove Tony Stephen Alistair King Jude Rangi Clare Corbet Kelly Ziccone Russell Anderson Reconciliation Australia Moonee Valley City Council

We promote deeper understanding, respect and justice for and with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples.
About us
Our Vision: A Victorian identity that reflects our true history, promotes and celebrates Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, equity and self-determination. Reconciliation Victoria was established in 2002 following the Council for Aboriginal Reconciliation recommendations to establish a national body, Reconciliation Australia, and State Reconciliation Councils to carry on the work of reconciliation. Reconciliation Victoria is the statewide body promoting reconciliation across Victoria. This means that we promote deeper understanding, respect and justice for and with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Our work focuses primarily on the 97% of Victorians who are not Aboriginal, as it is non-Aboriginal people who need to take responsibility for driving reconciliation. This work is guided by local Aboriginal voices. We work closely with - and facilitate connections between - local reconciliation groups and other community groups, the education sector, and state and local government partners. We organise the annual HART Awards and statewide reconciliation forums and promote National Reconciliation Week activities across Victoria. 📣National Reconciliation Week 2025 theme announced📣 The National Reconciliation Week (NRW) 2025 theme, Bridging Now to Next, reflects the ongoing connection between past, present and future. At a time when Australia faces uncertainty in its reconciliation journey, this theme calls on all Australians to step forward together. Bridging Now to Next urges us to look ahead and continue the push forward as past lessons guide us. In the #NRW2025 theme artwork created by Kalkadoon woman Bree Buttenshaw, native plants − which are known for regenerating after fire and thriving through adversity − symbolise our collective strength and the possibilities of renewal. This is a time for growth, reflection, and commitment to walking together. Australia’s history of reconciliation is not a linear one, we have made great strides and experienced disappointing setbacks. Twenty-five years ago, Corroboree 2000 brought together Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and non-Indigenous leaders in a historic call for reconciliation. We continue that work in 2025, inviting all Australians to join us in Bridging Now to Next - building a more united and respectful nation. See more information on #NRW2025: https://lnkd.in/d3hGDGY6 📌More assets, activity, and information will be released in February 2025. #Reconciliation #BridgingNowtoNext
