Red Energy becomes the first utility company to offer PayTo payment method! Red Energy has partnered with fintech Zepto to be the first energy retailer to offer customers PayTo, setting a new standard for fast and secure payments in the utilities sector. Anthony Young, Retail Financial Controller at Red Energy explained that “essential service providers typically have not used payments to improve overall customer experience. In the current technology driven world, we felt like it was time to start adopting some of the “new ways of paying” and improve our customers' payment experience. This provides us with another method of differentiating ourselves from the competition as well as future proofing ourselves as older payment systems are retired.” PayTo is now live for one-off bill payments for Red Energy and Lumo Energy, which provide electricity and gas to more than 1.4 million customers.
