While we're all anticipating our Xmas lunch, one of the Redland Disability Network (RDN) team will be farewelling family, managing his nerves, and doing the final prep for an epic 630 Nautical Mile (nearly 1200kms) adventure of a lifetime. RDN Board Member, father, husband, sailor, auditor and non-executive Director at Making Waves Foundation, David Preston is walking the talk of #Inclusion for #PeopleWithDisability. Dave, who lives with #CerebralPalsy has been a sailor for decades, says the opportunity to crew a yacht in the #RolexSydneyToHobart is a dream come true. David, the dry landers of the RDN crew Allison, Lauren, Kacey, Melissa, and Jim congratulate 👏 you on everything you do for others living with #Disability and celebrate 🎉 your achievements. So while we digest our Christmas pudding, with great admiration, we wish you #FairWindsAndFollowingSeas ⛵ #SailorsWithDisability #DisabilityInclusion #FollowYourDreams #SydneyToHobart #SaltyStories

Good to see the ACCC putting a focus on false and misleading advertising in the #NDIS space. #NDISProviders operate from a position of power; a greater focus in this area by the ACCC and the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission will give #PeopleWithDisability greater confidence that what #DisabilityServiceProviders print and publish can be relied upon for truth, accuracy, and legality.
NDIS providers put on notice about consequences of misleading advertising

Thank you to our wonderful speakers at yesterday's Redland Disability Network, what a great mix of information and motivation. Simone Johnston and Leigh Bramwell from Metro South Health shared outcomes from important work they have been doing on the Health Eating in Supported Accommodation Project. We followed this up with a round the room intro from all our regulars, the intermittents and the newbies. Always great to see new faces at RDN, and to welcome back the lapsed. Joshna Daya from Your Business Momentum then helped us understand the challenges go #Change. Loved the #Adaptability Axis and the 5 C's of #LeadingChange. If you're keen for a copy of this month's presentations be sure to request an Add to the RDN mail list at redlanddisabilitynetwork@gmail.com That's it for regular RDN meetings for 2024. Keep your eye out for an invite to the Redland Disability Network end of year #Network event on 19 December in the beautiful surrounds of the Redlands Indigiscapes Centre. Come along and meet the RDN team of Allison Rahman - JP (Qual), Melissa Grant, Kacey Temple, Lauren Micale, our very own #SydneytoHobart sailor David Preston, and Jim Haywood MAICD.
