We have been talking about the need for experiential retail for many years and this new concept by Netflix is really taking it to the next level. We have seen them dable in the US and also some pop ups in Sydney, but this is taking it to a permanent fixture in empty department store locations. We have also seen the popularity of retailtainment in some shopping malls in Australia with the great Monopoly concept in Melbourne centre and other immersive experiences. This new Netflix concept showcases the joining of entertainment, pop culture and retail with the ability to watch shows, immerse in experiences, eat the food from the shows and then purchase the merchandise to take home.
