In 2023 we introduced the Rod Lamb Sustainability Award which recognises the achievements of an individual or a team that has innovated to have a positive impact on Sedgman’s sustainability performance.    The 2024 Rod Lamb Sustainability Award winners are Ryan Bracey, David Way, Lyndon Ryan, Jessica Frigger, Matthew Newman and Oliver Quinn!    This team of experts completed a strategically important study for BHP to review novel comminution technologies and assess their ability to integrate into major upcoming projects for BHP, including Olympic Dam, Oak Dam and Prominent Hill.     BHP's Think and Act Differently (TAD) team were coordinators of the collaborative, multi-disciplinary sustainability project. The study work covered 12 novel technologies, which on average saved 25% energy and operated without water. He's also spent a significant amount of time on the road, visiting sites and representing Sedgman at key industry events across North America.    Maz has made a notable impact. He’s proud of providing steady leadership to the North American projects team and overseeing our current projects in the last year. These achievements highlight his commitment to driving project success and fostering growth within the business.    When it comes to leadership, Maz values integrity above all else. Since the beginning of his career, Maz has prided himself on sticking to his word and ensuring management of expectations.    Maz describes Sedgman’s culture as professional, collaborative, and fun— a combination that ensures both personal growth and team success. His time with Sedgman has taken him across North America, from site visits in Canada, Wyoming, and Utah, and attending a conference in Toronto. Being part of planning major projects, such as Eskay Creek in British Columbia, stand out as highlights of his tenure, alongside advancing strategic actions to support the long-term growth of the North American business. Beyond work, Maz is a firm believer in maintaining balance and embracing passions outside the office. One of Sedgman’s top priorities is the health and safety of our people and those influenced by our business operations. Our annual Russell Kempnich Safety Award recognises those who uphold and improve these standards.      Our 2024 Kempnich Safety Award winner is Marcus Lamont from Sedgman Onyx Pty Ltd!      As the Design Manager for the Western Ridge Crusher Project, Marcus has been responsible for the BHP Sustainability in Design process. He led the team through the design review process and engaged with the 'Take 5 in Design' process required by BHP's procedures.    Marcus' implementation of the procedure through a database has ensured that the process is followed as intended and actions aren't lost through the design process. We are excited to make further progress in the energy transition in Queensland with the Critical Minerals Group Ltd (CMG) Limited awarding Sedgman a contract to design and construct the CMG vanadium electrolyte manufacturing facility, located in Logan, Queensland   Following our appointment in March 2024 to complete the Lindfield project definitive feasibility study (DFS), we will deliver additional benefits and synergies to the downstream vanadium electrolyte manufacturing facility.     CMG expect to commence operations at the beginning of 2026, with a vision to support the growing domestic vanadium flow battery market once operations have commenced.    We look forward to working with CMG to support the demand for minerals used in large scale energy storage solutions 🔋   Find out more here: https://lnkd.in/gGM8SXR8 #Vanadium #Energy #Sedgman #SedgmanPrudentia

This month we were proud to support Friends with Dignity Ltd, a national Australian charity helping men, women and children who have been displaced by domestic violence.    Our Brisbane and Perth offices took part in a Christmas collective to donate presents for those displaced by domestic violence.     Tracey Wickham, National Fundraiser and Community Engagements Manager, from Friends with Dignity recently visited our Brisbane office to share how the charity improves the quality of life of adults and children impacted by domestic violence through the provision of financial and tangible resources, programs and scholarships. 📚   Friends with Dignity work in collaboration with registered referral agencies to respond to any requests for assistance. These include transforming houses into homes, providing essential items, and offering scholarships to ease the burden of education and extra-curricular costs.  🏠   Christmas can be a tough time for many families.
