Congratulations to our Pound Road West Upgrade team — with client partner Major Road Projects Victoria and design partner SMEC — for their 2024 Civil Contractors Federation National Earth Award. The Earth Awards recognise excellence in project delivery across a broad criteria base, including construction, management, quality, safety, environment, training, innovation, sustainability, and community / stakeholder engagement. The upgrade connected Pound Road West and Remington Drive with a new bridge over the Cranbourne rail line and added an extra lane between Abbotts Road and South Gippsland Highway. A big shoutout to everyone (employees, client, designers, subbies, suppliers, and community stakeholders) who contributed to our success. Thank you, we couldn't have done it without you all. Congratulations team. #seymourwhyte #asmarterwaytomore #smarterpartnerships #poundroadwest

On Friday [22 November], our team from the Western Distributor Smart Motorway, Mulgoa Road Upgrade, Upper South Creek, and Precontracts came together at Rushcutters Bay for the Annual Rotary Sydney Harbour Charity Regatta. While we didn’t take home any trophies, the day was full of excitement, laughter, and team spirit. It was a perfect opportunity to connect outside of the usual work environment, all while supporting a great cause. The event raised vital funds for the Sydney Children's Hospitals Foundation (SCHF), helping to provide a brighter future for sick children. It also supported the Safety of Life at Sea Trust (SOLAS)—a charity that assists families affected by those lost at sea—and other Rotary charities doing incredible work in the community. It’s days like these that remind us how important it is to support our local community while strengthening the bonds between our teams. Exciting developments at Melbourne Airport as we continue to hit another milestone for Naarm Way Stage 2. Thank you to our subcontractors, suppliers and team on this achievement. #seymourwhyte #asmarterwaytomore #smarterpartnerships
Earlier this week, Seymour Whyte commenced the installation of beams for the Naarm Way Stage 2 project, which will create a new ramp connecting the Terminal 123 car park building to Departure Drive. In this phase of construction, a total of 24 beams, each weighing up to 55 tonnes, will be installed with an additional four beams scheduled for installation in the new year. This two-stage project aims to facilitate a smoother exit from the Tullamarine Freeway to all four terminals, allowing travellers to bypass roundabouts and traffic lights when accessing pick-up and drop-off zones, as well as parking areas. When complete, Naarm Way will address traffic congestion with an express loop road network that will separate public traffic from commercial transport operators. [Celebrating culture] We came together to celebrate Diwali, the vibrant festival of lights, thanks to our Brisbane Social Club and team who proudly shared their heritage. Our office was transformed with colourful decorations and an array of delicious traditional foods and sweets, allowing everyone to indulge in the diverse flavours of Diwali. Highlights included an engaging Diwali speech by Meghna Chapatwala and Rutvik Solanki, who shared the festival's origins and significance, and a traditional henna hand art station. The Western Distributor Smart Motorway joined in the festivities with a Diwali cultural presentation by Prerna Chaudhary, followed by a delicious spread of Indian cuisine and sweets. Events like these strengthen cultural appreciation and team spirit, highlighting the diversity at Seymour Whyte. Thank you to everyone who helped make this celebration truly special. We hope you all enjoyed a joyful and prosperous Diwali🪔 #seymourwhyte #ourpeopledomore #ourpeoplemeanmore #Diwali #culturaldiversity #festivaloflights

Great work by our Seymour Whyte Civmec team in Perth, Western Australia, building the Causeway Pedestrian and Cyclist Bridges… #seymourwhyte #asmarterwaytomore #smarterpartnerships #socialinfrastructure #activetransport
Take a look at some of the amazing patterns captured during recent works under the Causeway Pedestrian and Cyclist Bridges. But how have these patterns formed? The bridge decks and pylons are made of low maintenance weathering steel, which intentionally looks worn and rusted. This unique, rusted appearance will continue to change over time and blend into the natural environment and architectural vision. [Infrastructure Sustainability Award] We’re so proud to celebrate the success of our collaboration with Major Road Projects Victoria (MRPV) and SMEC, winning the Excellence in Governance Award at the Infrastructure Sustainability Council (ISC) Gala Awards [24 October] for our Pound Road West and Frankston-Dandenong Road Upgrade Project in Melbourne. This project exemplifies innovation in sustainability, safety, and community engagement. Key initiatives — such as the trial of 'recovered Carbon Black' (RcB) asphalt and the use of glass-fibre-reinforced polymer bars — reduced environmental impact while enhancing infrastructure durability. Through strategic industry partnerships and initiatives, such as ‘Behind the Barriers’ event series with NAWIC VICTORIA , we promoted greater inclusion for women in construction. We also focused on driving economic value back into the local community to create lasting benefits beyond the project’s duration. With a steadfast commitment to stakeholder collaboration, responsible infrastructure development, and proactive supply chain engagement, we’re proud that this project has set a new benchmark for delivering meaningful and sustainable outcomes in the industry. Congratulations to the entire team and ALL our partners — client, subbies, suppliers, service providers, designers, consultants and community stakeholders — on this outstanding achievement. We truly couldn’t have done it without you.
