What’s the worst thing about having 4 finalists in Digital Design at the Victorian Premier’s Awards? There’s only one winner. We’re so proud of Kim McDonnell and Mike Chuter for creating Saveful and so grateful to play a role in bringing it to life. In case you haven’t already heard us preaching, it’s a free app that helps people save more food, money and time by making delicious meals with the food they already have. Shout out to finalists Goldee, Spoony, Wonki, Creature Technology Co. and Sleeptite – you’re all winners in our eyes. Creative Victoria

Capital X is a newly launched platform to help women founders raise capital and their profiles 🚀 We gladly helped them with some branding for their platform – a platform that already boasts over 500 members, including the likes of Jessica Box from Matched, Caitlin Judd from lady-brains and Kara Zervides 🧡 from Humpday App 🔥 If you're a woman founder, or someone who backs them, join up! After all, the future is better when we build it together.
Introducing Capital X. Capital X exists to increase the surface area of opportunity for women founders in Australia and New Zealand by supporting them to raise both capital and visibility. Late last year, frustrated by the lack of progress on the gender funding gap, and inspired by a question from Helena Turpin, I put a call out to women in the startup ecosystem to contribute their names to an open-source list of women founders and investors. The feedback was immediate. After many conversations with founders, investors and other leaders (and some incredible support from Shadowboxer), I am pleased to share the next evolution of the list Capital X. I was planning to quietly put this live, but once again the feedback has been immediate. Capital X is a network of leading startup and technology industry professionals - women and men - committed to supporting women founders to fund and scale their startups and increase their visibility. I'll be sharing more on plans moving forward, but the call to action is this: If you're a woman founder or investor, or a male committed to being part of the solution, please join us: https://www.capital-x.co/ DMs are wide open for ideas and offers to support and collaborate. Huge thanks to Konrad Spilva Mia Carroll Rachel Legge Mike Fraser Jodie Imam Nicola Hazell Noga Edelstein Peter Bradd Helena Turpin Preethi Mohan 🐘 Nicholas Crocker Chris Gillings Ben Dunn Gerardo Contreras Vacca Peter van Bruchem Nicole Cook for your time, generosity of feedback, thought provoking questions, and offers of support.
