The Shire of Murray Administration Office is now closed, reopening on January 2 2024. Our lovely friends at the Murray Library will be open during the festive period, aside from public holidays, and will be closing at 12:00pm on 24 December. Volunteer opportunity - Camp Host at Herron Point Campground! 🏕️ 🌳 Do you like the outdoors? 🏞️ Are you passionate about our Shire and sharing its beauty? The Murray Future Food Facility has taken a major step forward, with the Shire of Murray leasing a 6038 square metre area of the Food Innovation Precinct Western Australia to C4C Packaging. In partnership with Tetra Pak, C4C Packaging will build and operate a commercial-scale food and beverage processing operation. The Murray Future Food Facility (MFFF) will offer groundbreaking, 100% recyclable carton packaging solutions for wine, ready-to-drink beverages, and plant-based beverages and dairy products. We are pleased to share that we have won a Tidy Towns Sustainable Communities Environmental Sustainability award for the Riverbank Restoration Project. 🏆 This award recognises achievements in adaptation to environmental change with one project focusing on the preservation of natural environment, water conservation and energy efficiency. 🍃 Our team, with support from the Bindjareb Rangers, Syrinx, Landcare SJ Inc, Peel Harvey Catchment Council and the State NRM Office have restored the riverbank along the Murray River through sustainable soft engineering practices to prevent further erosion, create dune stability and provide habitat for native flora and fauna. Job Opportunity - Youth Activity Officer 🏏🎾 The Shire of Murray is looking for a Youth Activity Officer who will facilitate a positive, safe, and supportive environment for young people accessing Shire of Murray youth programs and events. The Youth Activity Officer will also facilitate and supervise all young people participating in group programs, activities, and events delivered by the Shire of Murray Community Development team. This is a casual pool position, working as per roster requirements and will involve after school and weekends, as well as occasional day time hours.
