Last Tuesday, several representatives of the Specialist Contractors Association attended the National Fire Industry Association of Australia's 2024 State Awards of Excellence at the Kent Town Hotel. 🔥🏆 It was a fantastic evening celebrating the achievements of the NFIA's South Australian based members, and was an excellent opportunity for industry representatives to catch up and reflect on the year! This event also provided a great opportunity to get a team photo! Eight representatives of the association are pictured alongside Cameron Baker, South Australian Skills Commissioner. 📸 Congratulations to Stephanie Hansen and Shayne Bennett OLY for putting on a fantastic event! 👏 #specialistcontractorsassociation #sca #nationalfireindustryassociationofaustralia #nfia #stateawards #awardsofexcellence

A couple of weeks ago some representatives from the Specialist Contractors Association attended the 2024 Melbourne Cup Lunch at Adelaide Oval. It was an excellent event that supported two brilliant charities - the Sammy D Foundation and the HAS Foundation - and the important work they are doing. It was also a great opportunity to catch up with some of our sponsors, to network with the diverse range of attendees, and for some all-important team bonding! #specialistcontractorsassociation #networking #melbournecup #adelaideoval

On Friday, the Specialist Contractors Association held their Annual Business Luncheon, at the National Wine Centre of Australia, with the theme - 'Industrial Relations in Focus - Unveiling the Challenges of the Closing Loopholes legislation.' Senator the Honourable Simon Birmingham gave an outstanding presentation that highlighted the significant cost-of-living pressures placed on small businesses and consumers, the negative impact of the Closing Loopholes reforms on productivity, the implications of the 'Same Job, Same Pay' bill, and advocated for the re-establishment of the Australian Building Construction Commission (ABCC), as the keynote speaker. The panel session that followed, featuring Andrew Cross from NSG BOFFA, Dain Venning from NECA SA/NT, and Sonia Bolzon from Lynch Meyer Lawyers, was extremely informative for the audience, discussing the event's theme from each panellist's unique perspective. Special thanks goes to Cbus Super Fund for being the event's Gold Sponsor and to Lynch Meyer Lawyers, Portable Long Service Leave, and Simpro Software for their Silver Sponsorship.
