Before a world-class athletics track or kickaround area takes shape, the foundation needs to be solid—literally! At Fortitude Drive Reserve, where SPORTENG was the Lead Design Consultant, we started with a capping layer. 💡 What’s a capping layer? It’s the hero under the surface! Made from mudstone layer (often with recycled materials), it’s used when the ground isn’t strong enough to build on. 👉 Provides a solid base for construction 👉 Protects the ground from rain and weather 👉 Helps keep costs down By starting with a strong foundation, we’re ensuring this new facility will last for years to come. A smart and sustainable way to build! #FortitudeDriveReserve #SportsEngineering #AthleticsTrack #Sustainability
