SPORTENG is proud to be part of the transformation at Drouin Recreation Reserve! 🏟️ We undertook the detailed design and documentation for the redevelopment of the natural turf oval, including: ✅ Advanced drainage and irrigation systems, ✅ High-quality sand layer installation for optimal turf performance, ✅ Upgraded car park design for improved accessibility. The oval, set to host AFL games, is shaping up beautifully under the expertise of Evergreen Turf Group as the contractor. At Fortitude Drive Reserve, where SPORTENG was the Lead Design Consultant, we started with a capping layer. 💡 What’s a capping layer? It’s the hero under the surface! Made from mudstone layer (often with recycled materials), it’s used when the ground isn’t strong enough to build on. 👉 Provides a solid base for construction 👉 Protects the ground from rain and weather 👉 Helps keep costs down By starting with a strong foundation, we’re ensuring this new facility will last for years to come. The project includes the construction of 27 new acrylic netball courts with lighting services, ensuring players can enjoy the courts day and night. ✨ Did you know? A key part of building durable and high-performance sports surfaces is the base layer.
