"When I walked through the doors of St Bart's, I finally felt like I mattered. Here, I’m treated with respect and dignity." – Matt* (name changed for privacy) Like so many affected by the COVID-19 housing crisis, he found himself homeless, moving from one couch to another with no place to truly call home. At St Bart's, Matt found not just a roof over his head but a community that supports his journey of rebuilding. He has taken incredible steps toward change, actively participating in anger management courses, regular therapy, and mindfulness practices. Recently, Matt shared a personal sketch he uses as a visual reminder of his progress—a testament to his commitment to growth. At St Bart's, Andrew finally found stability. With a secure room, warm shelter, and a supportive community, he now has a safe place to call home. From friendly gatherings over breakfast to a place where he feels protected, Andrew’s life has been transformed by the comfort, security, and connection that St Bart’s provides. What a memorable day at Lesmurdie Falls! Our staff and residents enjoyed a stunning hike, guided by the incredible team at Wellness Central 55 as part of our Pride Month celebrations. These hikes are quickly gaining popularity as one of the favourite activities on offer! The highlight? The sausage sizzle and delicious rainbow cake enjoyed by everyone at the end of the trail! Thank you to the team from Woodside Energy who joined us for a morning of corporate volunteering at St Bart’s! They made 107 cups of coffee to order and cooked up 70 hot breakfasts with eggs, bacon, baked beans, and toast. But best of all, they took the time to sit down and chat with our residents, bringing warmth and connection to every table. Our residents were truly grateful for their kindness, conversation, and smiles. Welcome to our Bart's Plus Family Service 💙 At Bart's Plus, we’re proud to provide a safe, trauma-informed, and recovery-focused space for families who have experienced homelessness within the Perth metro area. We are currently housing 9 families, with children as young as 19 months up to 17 years. Our program offers a nurturing environment in fully furnished homes with two and four bedroom options. Our dedicated support staff work closely with parents to build community networks, access essential services, and work through trauma-related challenges, all while assisting in the journey toward stable, long-term accommodation.
