In our latest project, 'Developing models and tools to quantify offshore production of aquaculture' testing hydroacoustic technology to measure biomass of macroalgae has commenced with the deployment of a multibeam echosounder at the Blue Economy CRC Macrocystis aquaculture site at Tinderbox in the D’Entrecasteaux Channel. Project Lead, Dr Scott Hadley states, “We are excited to bring together industry partners, Tassal Group Petuna Aquaculture Tasmanian Oyster Company Limited BMT FRDC - Fisheries Research and Development Corporation and Echoview Software with Department of Natural Resources and Environment Tasmania (NRE Tas) and researchers at IMAS/University of Tasmania and CSIRO to look at improving our understanding and management of offshore aquaculture. This integrated approach will provide vital information for industry as it expands into new locations”. • It was an honour and privilege to be invited to the Mures Grand Re-opening. The Mures family have been in seafood for 50 years, three generations & many more to come. We are proud to be part of their story and supply their stores with the freshest oysters. We also had a surprise guest with the Prime Minister Anthony Albanese attending the opening. Rest-assured; we have another fan of our renowned Tasmanian Oyster Co. oyster

  • RUOK DAY Across all our sites today, we asked our team the important question; RUOK Today served as an important reminder to check on your nearest & dearest. In line with our values, RUOK day allows us to continue demonstrating to our staff that we are there for them at every step of the way. Our community is at the heart of what we do, and as we continue to strive for excellence, our people will continue to play the most important part.

  • We are delighted to continue supporting our local community. Our on-going partnership with the Triabunna & Swansea Schools see us donating spat to these schools. They are then grown to mature oyster and sold. All proceeds from this goes back to the schools. The students provide their ideas on how best this donation can be used to further their education. In line with our mission to create an environment that is positive in every way, we aim to foster this long term relationship and enhance the opportunities available to the students of both these schools.

  • Tasmania. We are proud to call Tasmania our home. We pay respects to our foundations which were established in 1979; deeply rooted in history & experience has allowed us to become one of the largest vertically integrated Oyster organisations in Australia. Combining new age thoughts with the experience handed down through generations has allowed us to continually grow and achieve our strategic goals. Through the cold mornings, and mesmerising sunrises & sunsets; we are proud custodians of the water ways in which we farm, in Tasmania & across the country.
