Helping startups scale their development teams with agile and cost-effective Tekkies.

About us

Tekkon helps startups and scale-ups find seriously awesome developer talent quickly and cost-effectively. Our goal is to make the entire process easy, seamless, and affordable. Having worked across different startup ecosystem, including Australia and Japan for many years, we realized the challenges of hiring reliable, affordable, and talented developers locally. We trialed the developer staff augmentation model with a local fintech, starting with three remote Tekkies (developers), and it worked so well that our team has grown to over 50 in the past 6+ years. We want to continue supporting startups, helping them get access to great Tekkie talent from Nepal while offering our Tekkies global working opportunities. Our approach is simple: you provide us with the details of the staff you need, and we handle the rest. Soon, you'll have an agile and cost-effective developer ready to join your team. Our Tekkies seamlessly integrate into your team, adopting your tools, approach, and methodologies. We support a wide range of web, mobile, and desktop technologies. Roles we can fill include UI/UX Designers, Full-stack & Frontend/Backend and iOS/Android Developers, AI/ML Engineers, Project Managers, Testers, QA Engineers, Data Analysts and more. We also offer a range of cybersecurity services from penetration testing, ongoing monitoring and incident response. Tekkon has been partnering with startups for more than six years, supported by a team with even longer experience. Your local team includes Patrick Green, Director, a former startup founder, CTO, and mentor, and Matt Ainsworth, Sales Manager, a former startup mentor and consultant. Our ultimate goal is mutual success: if you win, we win. If you're looking to scale your startup or scale-up's dev team, Tekkon can help! DM us for more info.

  • Freo Startup Fest for 2024 was a blast right? 💥 We always think it is the highlight of the West Tech Fest week, and this year didn't fail to deliver - from the founders panel, to the reverse pitches and pitch frenzy, we were sooooo happy with the energy throughout the day! Congratulations to the winners too, especially Emily Zhen who pitched Materia Health, and received the Golden Ticket! Plus, don't forget Caitlin McKeown who pitched We Spot Turtles! She also put on a spectacular performance winning the Tekkon FSF Tech Award for 2024, which gives her access to 5 days of UI/UX Design or DevOps from our team. A special mention to our Tek Talk speakers, who generously shared their expertise on stage with the audience, including: Melissa Houghton from MakerX - Github for Startups for startups! Brian Foody - Vertical AI - the last 9.99%! Nina Ajnira Karisik from MadeApt - Why a Lean Tech-Stack Matters! Sean Oldenburger from AI Advancements - From Pixels to Profits: Computer Vision in Action! We were so impressed with the turnout this year - and really appreciate everyone who came out and supported the event, the founders, speakers, organisers, MCs, facilitators, supporters, sponsors, musicians, participants and everyone else who I haven't mentioned ... you know who you are 👏 And a final shout out to Rob Nathan, Patrick Green and the rest of the FSF Organising Committee and Team for putting on yet another fantastic event for 2024! Bring on 2025 🎇 !!!

Helping tech founders and CTOs scale their startups’ dev teams with skilled global remote developers | Early-stage Startup Mentor | Founder Stories in Japan Series Host | Syd > Tokyo > Perth > ? |

A bit late to the WTF party, but here is my last Morning Startup summary for 2024 ... and let that sink in - demonstrating how quickly the year has flown by ✈️ A West Tech Fest Satellite Event - the organisers did an amazing job of bringing this double header together. First off, we had Kate Kirwin sharing her inspiring 'Impact Driven' story from her work at She Codes Australia. Some key things that resonated with me from her talk include: - You can start by solving your own problem - first (but, also make sure you continue to validate the market need too!) - Her ability to share stories and feedback from the impact she has made on previous participants - Telling more captivating stories by changing up the way they use data in their reports (ie - how many cupcakes were served, kms not travelled in the regions, etc.) - Problem, solution, measure, communicate - rinse and repeat ... We then took a quick networking break, before moving onto a grand panel of heavy-hitting speakers from across the Perth Startup Scene. In the following session, we explored how founders can 'find their tribe' and better navigate the a range of programs available for startups in WA ... including: - Our MC: Josh Van Ross from Drone Sky Shows - Lisa Longman from Bloom - specialising in programs for young(ish) founders across school, university and industry - David Smith from CERI - Centre for Entrepreneurial Research and Innovation - specialising in helping researchers to commercialise their research in deeptech - Sarah Kahle from Curtin Innovation and Entrepreneurship work across a broad range of founders in the curious, startup and scale-up phases of innovation - Juliette Lucas from Spacecubed - wide range of programs include Startup Weekend, Perth Landing Pad, Plus Eight Pre-Accelerator and Accelerators for founders. - Geremy Farr-Wharton GAICD from Edith Cowan University - provide programs for SMEs (Small to Medium Enterprises or Businesses) We had some fantastic insights shared across the panel, to help founders get a better understanding of the opportunities available across each of the program providers. Yet, as I always say, make sure to watch the full replay to get the full effect or impact of each or both of the sessions - replay link 👇 Have an awesome Sunday ahead ☀️

Tekkon Australia's Tech Leadership Programs are almost ready to go for early 2025. Thanks to our recent AMA: CTO Edition event last Monday, with our all-star cast of tech experts joining our panel (I think I've tagged them enough) - Vishmi, Erin, Kale and Lee, we kicked off our launch with lots of stories, fun and an overall grounded approach to tech. We had a great crowd of tech and non-tech founders, aspiring CTOs and supporters. With insightful questions from both tech and non-technical perspectives, an engaged audience and a whole lot of networking, this is how we want to begin building a better, more cohesive and knowledgable tech startup community. Not only in Perth and across regional WA, but also wider Australia. But back to the mission at hand, we're commencing with 2 initiatives: - Ongoing events, giving you access to a variety of tech experts - The launch of our CTO Fast-track 1 day bootcamp (one for tech founders/aspiring CTOs and one for non-tech founders) We're looking to run the first couple of 1 day bootcamps in Jan and Feb next year ... So, if you're: - a technical founder - non-tech founder, or - aspiring CTO ... and interested to be part of our very first cohort, register your date preferences for our programs via the QR code 👇 or the link in the comments. PS - I've included some of the amazing photos from Monday night too - thanks to Katie T. from Prometheus AI. Happy Friday everyone ☕️

I speak with new non-tech savvy founders almost every week, and I see firsthand how much they need access to tech expertise or the skills to make effective tech-decisions and work smoothly with developers. That’s exactly why Tekkon Australia is launching our Tech Leadership Programs - designed to empower non-tech founders to become tech-savvy and to help tech founders develop into even stronger leaders. To kick off these programs, we’re thrilled to present our first CTO Edition AMA (Ask Me Anything) event, aimed at early-stage tech startups and founders of all backgrounds.
