We as the Founders of MyCareSpace and The A List are so proud to be leading the way for the disability community in our Create Space Arts Initiative, funded by Australian Government Department of Social Services (DSS) in partnership with Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect). Over the weekend we had our Create History Event at the Anzac Memorial where the whole community participated in our autism friendly event. The staff at the Anzac Memorial were trained by the Aspect Autism Friendly team, the content was designed and delivered by our Autistic Arts Advisory Board and the event was led by autistic volunteer lead facilitators that participated in our free training program. We were delighted to see the community so engaged with the Dhinawan yarn entertainment welcome ceremony, national anthem sung by Autism Queensland Limited ambassador Emma Tomlinson, get their hands on historial objects and hundreds of kilograms of LEGO. A highlight was the performances by the Anzac Memorial Staff from real letters, diary entries and a play by Morris Gleitzman. We are looking forward to connecting with more autistic young adults in our free volunteer training program, venues across NSW, VIC and QLD and giving autistic artists opportunities to create content. See you in 2025 Nicole Gamerov FCA 🪢Bianca Shapiro #autism #autistic #mycarespace #alisthub #aspect #createspaceartsinitiative #artsandculture https://lnkd.in/g9sNSBtP

We were thrilled to kick off the first of 6 events as part of the Create Space Arts Initiative last friday night funded by Australian Government Department of Social Services (DSS). A project that is at the heart of The A List and driven by the founder of MyCareSpace, Nicole Gamerov FCA and business partner 🪢Bianca Shapiro who are out to leave a legacy of difference for the community. The neurodivergent community gathered to paint upcycled fashion, chill out to the sounds of a live DJ and walk the catwalk if they so wanted to. Some people drove 2 hours from the central coast to attend and our autistic arts facilitators created a space for everyone to be themselves. We collectively painted a dress and were delighted to see it on the runway worn by Abang Anade Othow. With our partners, Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect) and the guidance of the Aspect Autism Friendly team, all of us had a night we won't forget in a while. Thank you to Brand X for housing us. We cannot wait for our sold out event coming up at the Anzac Memorial on Dec 1st. #createspaceartsinitiative #alisthub #mycarespace #aspect #autistic

On the eve of World Autism Day, we celebrate our beloved autistic community. They are a diverse, talented, resilient, and formidable group, still having to navigate a neurotypical world. We love to promote great work in the community in so many organisations across Australia who deliver our vision daily so autistic youth can 'be social your way.' Our latest article delves into our passion for social inclusion and highlights the importance of community in combating social isolation for autistic individuals. Let's continue to raise awareness and understanding for autism and celebrate the unique strengths and talents of our community. #autistic #worldautismawarenessday #autism #worldautismunderstadingday #WAUD https://lnkd.in/gR7KSaHj
