In late October and early November, ten committed individuals participated in The Hunger Project’s Thrive Immersion Experience, traveling to Zambia to witness the power of community-led development firsthand. Facilitated by longtime THP Investor Claire Whitbread and our Head of Partnerships and Immersion Experiences Jessica Parker, the group gained unparalleled insights into resilience, leadership, and sustainable change. Collectively, they raised close to $100,000 to support programs that empower communities to create a future free from hunger. Thrive is more than just a journey—it’s a catalyst for growth and purpose, designed for those who: - Aspire to lead with vision, purpose, and impact. - Aim to inspire positive change within their organizations and communities. - Seek experiences that challenge their thinking, broaden their perspective, and shape their leadership style. In 2025, we are offering more Thrive Immersion Experiences in Africa, tailored for professionals and corporate teams. Participants will: - Gain a deeper understanding of resilience and empowerment. - Develop skills to lead with clarity and conviction. - Return with a renewed sense of purpose and the tools to inspire action. Our Elected Women Representatives program in India is so powerful. Put simply: we help train women to get elected on their local councils, giving them voice, agency and confidence to fight for the issues that matter to women and girls. Imagine the barriers these women come up against in shifting power and making change. You can support an Elected Woman with a tax-deductible donation https://lnkd.in/g4-khR3n
Strengthening women's leadership and participation in local governance (at the gram panchayat level) in India.
"We’re confident... We have earned our right to be here... We have work to show for it… They can't just bully us," are some prominent phrases one hears repeatedly as we traverse the empowerment journey of elected women representatives across gram panchayats in Pindwara Block, Rajasthan. What started with becoming self-aware of their leadership capacities in 2020 (after gram panchayat elections) soon translated into a potent, passionate, persistent voice for advancing local democracy where all can participate and be heard. Bringing you powerful narratives of empowered leadership that demonstrate that women matter on their own. They refuse to cede this hard-won ground. They keep a watch on the bullies, the rabble-rousers, and the sluggish fellow male panchayat administrators. They hold themselves and others accountable as they negotiate their way through and challenge the bastions of patriarchy. They are willing to stir the pot as and when needed. Today is International Day of the Girl, with 2024's theme Girls' vision for the future. Globally, girls are starting their life on an unequal footing - in education, in health, in bodily automony, and in their own agency. We are doing some incredibly impactful work across Africa, The Hunger Project India, Bangladesh and Mexico to change the future for girls.

We think LinkedIn is the perfect place for this video about solving world hunger. It's where thinkers think, hustlers hustle and leaders lead. We need all of the above to bring the sheer number of people living in hunger DOWN. It must be done. We've got a solution. And we need you to be a part of it. You're allowed to feel sad, angry and depressed about the state of inequality in this world. But then you have a choice. You can do something about it. #equality #empowerment #changeforgood
