We inspire change, willingly and for good.
About us
We're a Behaviour Change communications company. We create ideas by studying the way people behave and how they feel, rather than telling them how a product will make them feel. We use behavioural insights to create strategies and work that inspires people to change their attitude and behaviour for the better. The academic world has decades of work to draw on and is continually improving its understanding of human behaviour and how to influence it. To tap into this knowledge and expertise we established BehaviourWorks Australia with Monash University. BehaviourWorks, a research institute of which we are a founding partner and funder, is dedicated to the global study and research of Behaviour Change. We inspire change, willingly and for good. There is a double meaning behind those words 'for good'. The Behaviour Change we set out to inspire has two aims. It is change that is 'good' for individuals, families, communities and, increasingly, business. It is also change that is 'good' because it is long lasting and often permanent. That's why we work only with people who desire to improve the lives of others. We apply rigour, when others will not. Collaborate with academic partners, which others can not. Act with empathy, when others might not. And measure ourselves on actual change, when others do not. So let's inspire change, willingly and for good. Together.

The abandonment of Australia’s proposed misinformation legislation underscores the unchecked spread of false information, particularly on social media, which poses severe risks to democracy, public health, and social trust. However, it should not signal the end of efforts to address online misinformation but rather underscore the need for more nuanced strategies that balance free speech concerns with platform accountability. Our State of Change Report revealed 80% of Australians agree misinformation corrodes trust, three out of four support legislation to combat it, and many frequently encounter information they suspect to be false.

Our crew joined thousands across Victoria to participate in Respect Victoria's Walk Against Family Violence today, a powerful demonstration of solidarity and commitment to creating a state where everyone is safe, equal, and respected. Shannon Behaviour Change have been longtime supporters and collaborators of Respect Victoria and this important event launched Victoria’s involvement in the global 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, amplifying the call to prevent and eliminate violence against women and girls. Each step taken was a stand for survivors, a call for justice, and a pledge to challenge inequality and discrimination in all its forms. Together, we sent a clear and united message: violence has no place in our homes, communities, or society. Let’s continue to walk the path toward a safer, fairer, and more respectful future for all. 🌏💜 #WalkAgainstFamilyViolence #16DaysOfActivism #EndGenderBasedViolence #SafeAndEqualVictoria #Respect #CommunityAction #ShannonBehaviourChange

Australia is facing a surge of misinformation - are we ready to separate fact from fiction in a world flooded with fake news and conspiracy theories? On November 7, join Dr Denise Goodwin from Monash University’s BehaviourWorks Australia alongside Director of PR & Stakeholder Engagement Justine Sywak at "Misinformation: A True Story" a free Change Room event. Hosted by Geoff Paine, this 45-minute session dives deep into why misinformation spreads so easily, how our brains are hardwired to fall for it, and practical tools to cut through the noise. Misinformation isn’t just a problem for governments - corporates and not-for-profits are also feeling the heat, with trust eroding fast. Let’s tackle this challenge together - be part of the solution.
