  • Thank you to the EMMAs judges who awarded Mercer and Work From Anywhere the award for "Best Partnership Between Two Service Providers" earlier this week in London. This is the 3rd global award we have won in less than 6 months and we are immensely grateful to the support of our partners, our customers and everyone who has been supporting us along the journey. We could not have achieved this success without you all. Our CEO John Lee said: “Mercer took a bet on us back in 2023, and were brave enough to believe in how much international remote work was going to become a crucial employee benefit.  Despite all the noise around RTOs, we are seeing more and more companies around the world recognise how valuable it is to allow employees to be able to access the benefit of being able to work remotely back home with loved ones for a few weeks at a time.  Making this as part of your rewards offering is something that those employees will very often never forget, especially if it is to visit those loved ones who might be unwell. We’re excited to see how together with Mercer we are going to continue to innovate what we do with our Work From Anywhere platform to offer a world-class technology platform that can help companies to capitalize on the wider opportunities that remote work offers.  Frederic Franchi and the whole team in Mercer have been incredible partners, as have the Mercer clients we have worked with, so you can be sure Mercer and Work From Anywhere as partners together will be using these awards as a springboard to further revolutionize employee benefits in 2025 and beyond.” #award #partnership #innovation The Forum for Expatriate Management

  • 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬? 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭’𝐬 𝐠𝐨𝐭 𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐝𝐨𝐭𝐞. Their Work From Anywhere programme balances flexibility and in-person engagement, empowering employees to work where they thrive - be it at home, abroad, or in a cutting-edge office space. 🌍 However, working at Revolut isn’t for the faint of heart. The fast-paced, high-pressure environment comes with its challenges, including long hours and high expectations. In this context, their focus on flexibility - like 60 𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐚𝐛𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐝 - can act as a much-needed counterbalance, helping employees recharge and maintain their well-being. What do you think about this approach? Do you believe that flexibility and collaboration truly coexist in a high-pressure workplace? https://lnkd.in/d3DjJB4b #FutureOfWork #WorkFromAnywhere #Innovation #WorkplaceWellbeing Lucian Ivan

  • The rise of the ‘workation’: should HR encourage blurring the lines between home and away? Younger employees are particularly attracted to the idea of workation-ing, with a recent report by CEMS finding that they “cherish the ability to blend work with personal pursuits, to embark on ‘workations’ that invigorate creativity and productivity”. This has led to employers accommodating the trend through ‘work from anywhere’ policies. https://lnkd.in/eAy-q6Qx #workation #HR

  • Time to go a bit technical today as we dig into the latest updates on the EU’s Posted Worker Directive. The European Union’s Posted Worker Directive has long been a cornerstone of managing temporary workforce mobility within the European single market. However, its implementation has often been mired in administrative inefficiencies, creating hurdles for businesses and employees alike. Quite simply, it’s been a pain for businesses to comply with. This is one of the key reasons behind the European Commission’s recent proposal to introduce a single digital declaration portal, the directive is poised to enter a new era – one that promises to balance efficiency with the protection of workers’ rights. • 🌴 In the U.S., millennials and Gen Z are often hesitant to take their annual leave, fearing they'll be seen as slackers. Yet, many are still carving out some beach time. This phenomenon is being dubbed "𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐞𝐭 𝐯𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠" (also known as "hush workations") - a spin on "quiet quitting." It describes young professionals stepping away from work without formally notifying their employer. A Harris Poll survey found that 37% 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐫𝐬 admitted to taking time off without informing their manager - whether for a quick getaway or just to tackle personal errands. The survey, which included 1,170 employed adults aged 18 and older, highlighted that millennials (born 1981–1996) are leading the trend. In fact, nearly 4 in 10 said they've been "out of office" without officially declaring it - far more than any other generation. ➡️ 𝐆𝐞𝐧 𝐙 (1997–2012): 24% ➡️ 𝐆𝐞𝐧 𝐗 (1965–1980): 24% ➡️ 𝐁𝐚𝐛𝐲 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐬 (1946–1964): 18% Jasmine Escalera, career expert at MyPerfectResume, told Newsweek; "𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐛𝐞 𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐛𝐲 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐛𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤-𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞. 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐠𝐠𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐯𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐬𝐨 𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐞𝐭 𝐯𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐬 𝐚 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐱 - 𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐦𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬." She also pointed to constraints on PTO and fear of scrutiny when requesting time off as contributing factors. 🇺🇸 The U.S. is notorious for offering some of the least vacation days globally. On average, employees only get 14 𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐓𝐎 after their first year with a company. Unsurprisingly, nearly half (47%) of survey respondents confessed to feeling 𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐭𝐲 about using their vacation days. What’s more: 🌎 37% worked from a third location (coffee shop or hotel) while on vacation. 📧 86% would check emails from their boss during their time off. Escalera cautioned against romanticizing quiet vacationing, noting that "it reflects issues of mistrust, fear, overwork, and a lack of boundaries. While quiet vacationing may provide some temporary relief, it isn't a sustainable solution that actually addresses the root causes of the issue." It’s clear: the rise of quiet vacationing highlights the need for healthier workplace cultures and better boundaries around rest and recharge. Do you agree? #quietvacationing #worklifebalance #workfromanywhere #hushworkation
