At first glance the collection presents as dark and moody, with sombre and gothic undertones. As you delve further, the fantasy comes alive as you find yourself irresistibly pulled into the enchantment of sequins evoking crystals and mermaid tails. Introducing the Maticevski Autumn Winter 24 Collection. This collection gives that sense of ease from Pre-Fall 24 more control, through a cavalcade of sinuous folds, pleats, ruffles, and draping. Maticevski poses the question that there is more underneath the surface of how we present ourselves. The idea that what’s underneath the surface of a woman, may not always be what she’s presenting. Shimmers of sequins, bathe against bonded fabrics. Pearl heads punctuate luscious gathers, like piercings into the skin. These pieces are presented as armour with references to the Samurai. They help her to feel protected, indestructible, and secure. They keep her feeling beautiful and powerful all at once. Charlee Fraser recently stunned on the red carpet at the Australian Premiere of Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga in a one-of-a-kind gown designed by Toni Maticevski. This custom creation is a result of a longstanding collaboration and friendship between Charlee and Toni. Inspired by Charlee’s personal journey and her role in recent films, the gown symbolises strength and self-reflection. Now, this unique piece will be auctioned as part of Charlee’s philanthropic initiative, Repeat For Purpose (RFP), with proceeds benefiting Bush Heritage Australia, a conservation organisation that protects ecosystems and wildlife. “There has to be an initial connection, an initial spark, otherwise it's just another dress that I've created for a beautiful friend. It has been amazing to be in a creative space whilst also Charlee and I being able to create together, and then use that to give back to others; to intentionally choose this moment to make an impact”, said Toni Maticevski.
