🌻 At Transit Systems, we're proud to support initiatives that promote understanding and inclusion for everyone, especially in honour of International Day of People with Disabilities (IDPWD). A recent experience shared by Poonam Singh from our Transit Systems VIC team perfectly captures the spirit of this important day. While celebrating our team's completion of the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower - Australia & New Zealand training, Poonam Singh handed out sunflowers and flyers at Footscray Station. The feedback from commuters was overwhelmingly positive, but one moment stood out: "A young boy approached me, card in hand, asking if he could buy a sunflower for his mother. When I explained the meaning behind the sunflower and gave him a sunflower for free, his excitement was contagious. His genuine curiosity and happiness was a beautiful reminder of how meaningful these small gestures can be." Moments like these highlight the power of awareness and understanding. Through this training, our team has gained a deeper appreciation for the challenges faced by those with hidden disabilities, reinforcing our commitment to fostering an inclusive environment.
