Do you operate a containerised freight vehicle in Western Australia? The TMA Containerised Freight Vehicle Monitoring Schemes (WA), introduced by Main Roads Western Australia in collaboration with Transport Certification Australia (TCA), enable the monitoring of heavy vehicles carrying containerised freight across WA’s road network. This includes two schemes: 🫥 With Smart OBM Monitoring 🫥 Without Smart OBM Monitoring These schemes use the Telematics Monitoring Application (TMA) to track vehicle movements and, in some cases, monitor vehicle mass and configuration. To get started, transport operators must work with a TCA-certified Application Service Provider (ASP). They will assist with enrolling in the scheme, installing #telematics devices, and setting up Smart OBM systems when required. This initiative is designed to improve safety, efficiency, and compliance for containerised freight transport across Western Australia. ℹ️ Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/gjADDGta #TransportSafety #WATransport #RoadSafety #Telematics #MainRoadsWA #ContainerisedFreight #FreightTransport

As a key milestone during 2024, Transport Certification Australia has completed the replacement of its test vehicle. This vehicle is critical to ensuring the reliability and performance of hardware and devices type-approved by TCA for use within the National Telematics Framework and a pivotal piece of TCA's NATA accreditation. “The new test vehicle is a critical asset in the TCA certification process,” Geoff Allan, Austroads Chief Executive, said. “We have now completed the final stages of calibration and testing for the new vehicle, which will help ensure that telematics devices generate accurate data that meets our rigorous standards.” The potential device is fitted to the test vehicle to verify that the data it generates is accurate and meets the necessary requirements and specifications. In addition, three software applications have been developed and implemented to support the operation of the vehicle. To learn more about TCA's type-approval process, visit: https://lnkd.in/ggqePh3c
