  • As part of our countdown to Christmas, we continue to highlight inspiring stories of impact, and today we turn our focus to Johnson & Johnson. Their dedication to improving access to medicine and healthcare solutions in underserved communities is truly remarkable.   In the 2024 Access to Medicine Index, Johnson & Johnson ranked among the top five companies for their efforts to expand access to medicines globally. This marks over a decade of recognition for the company’s mission to make healthcare accessible for all, no matter where they live.   Here are some key initiatives that showcase their impactful work: Fighting Intestinal Worms: Johnson & Johnson has donated over 2.4 billion doses of medicine for soil-transmitted helminths since 2006 and committed to donating up to 1 billion more doses by 2030. This disease, which impacts children most severely, can cause stunted growth, malnutrition, and cognitive impairment. Tackling Tuberculosis (TB): Through community-led programmes, Johnson & Johnson has helped screen more than 600,000 individuals for undiagnosed TB, helping millions of at-risk people receive treatment. Empowering Healthcare Workers: Johnson & Johnson’s support extends to over 2.28 million health workers globally, with a strong focus on training and strengthening the healthcare workforce, particularly in regions like Kenya, where they’ve supported 100,000 community health workers.   This remarkable work is an example of how one company’s commitment to healthcare can transform communities around the world. Johnson & Johnson’s efforts embody their credo—"We are responsible to the communities in which we live and work, and to the world community as well.”   Stay tuned for more impactful stories as we continue our #DecemberImpact countdown, celebrating those who are driving change and making a difference worldwide.   #MedTechNews #HealthcareInnovation #MedTechIndustry #HealthTech #HealthcareTechnology #GlobalHealth #AccessToMedicine #SocialImpact #DecemberImpact   https://lnkd.in/gy_q9YJ4

  • As job seekers prepare for the competitive #2025 job market, they need to master more than just their skill sets. Stress and anxiety can influence interview performance, but there are strategies to help you stand out ♣️ Some key poker-inspired tactics can enhance your job interview game 🤝🏼 Here’s how: Read the Room Like a Pro: Just like in poker, adjusting your energy based on the interviewer is key. Show enthusiasm for the role and connect with the energy in the room. Match their tone and be strategic with your confidence, raising it when discussing your strengths and dialling it back when addressing challenges. Master the ‘Poker Face’: Your body language speaks volumes. Keep a calm, friendly expression to avoid giving away emotional tells, especially when faced with tough questions. Maintaining a composed demeanour helps project confidence without saying a word. Use the ‘Check-Raise’ Strategy: In interviews, it’s about playing your cards right. Withhold some of your strengths at first, and then reveal them strategically when the interviewer asks more. This approach keeps them engaged and allows you to impress them when they least expect it. Bluff Strategically and Smartly: In interviews, it's important to present yourself confidently without boasting. Reframe any weaknesses by showcasing how you're addressing them. For example, instead of saying you’re still learning a skill, mention how quickly you pick up new ones, demonstrating adaptability. These poker-inspired strategies, coupled with recruiter’s insights, provide a smart way to ace your next interview. Stay strategic, confident, and authentic to increase your chances of landing that job in 2025. #TRESPTips #CareerAdvice #WorkplaceSuccess #ProfessionalGrowth #CareerDevelopment #LeadershipTips #WorkSmart #CareerTips #JobSearchTips #EmployeeEngagement

  • Have you ever felt that spark—the sudden realisation that you’re capable of achieving something truly extraordinary? What is it that pushes people to conquer seemingly insurmountable obstacles and turn their biggest dreams into reality? And what if you could tap into the same unstoppable force that drives the world’s most successful individuals? Motivation. It’s the secret ingredient behind every great achievement, yet many of us struggle to access it consistently. But here's the truth: motivation isn’t a fleeting burst of energy. It’s a powerful, dynamic force that can be shaped by your mindset, your actions, and the environment you create for yourself. So, what fuels your ambition and keeps you moving when the going gets tough? Let’s dive into the science of motivation and discover how you can harness it to achieve your wildest dreams. Ready to unlock your inner drive? Take a moment to reflect and keep reading—we’re about to find out what’s really behind your motivation. When you're motivated, dreams shift from distant aspirations to achievable goals within your grasp. This is why pursuing your dreams is so important: they fuel your passion, providing meaning and excitement while sparking action that leads to personal growth and positive change. Achieving these dreams boosts your confidence, reinforcing your belief in your own potential. To turn dreams into reality, start by setting specific, measurable goals and taking consistent action. Prioritise tasks, set deadlines, and create a concrete plan. The true power lies in staying consistent, even when motivation feels scarce. Understanding motivation can help you tap into its power more effectively. Different theories offer unique insights into what drives us. By exploring these theories, you can identify which resonates with you most and use it to fuel your own motivation. Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs: We first fulfil basic needs (like safety and food) before striving for higher goals (like self-actualisation). Herzberg’s Two-Factor Theory: hygiene factors (such as salary) prevent dissatisfaction, while motivators (like recognition) enhance satisfaction. Vroom’s Expectancy Theory: We’re motivated when we believe our efforts will lead to meaningful outcomes. Locke’s Goal-Setting Theory: Setting clear, challenging goals is key to driving performance and persistence. On days when motivation feels out of reach, remember: motivation is an ongoing journey, not a destination. Setbacks are opportunities to learn, adapt, and grow. The key is to maintain a positive attitude, stay consistent, and embrace the journey towards your dreams. Stay motivated. Stay focused. Keep moving forward. #hr #recruitment #recruiting #leadership #careers #humanresource #recruiter #hrmanagement #hrtrends #hrtopics #careerresources #manager #employees #workplace

  • This week's #MedTech roundup highlights major breakthroughs in knee replacements, heart valve procedures, and liver tumour treatments. AI-powered tools are enhancing surgical precision, while clinical data show promising long-term outcomes. Strategic acquisitions are shaping the future, focusing on progress, precision, and patient impact. Zimmer Biomet announced it received approval for its cementless partial knee replacement implant in the U.S. The Oxford cementless partial knee, first launched in England in 2004, has established a strong market presence in Europe, where it holds a 60% share. This will be the first product of its kind available in the U.S., with plans for launch in the first quarter of 2025. Zimmer sees the implant as well-suited for ambulatory surgical centres and expects it to be one of the top three knee growth drivers in the U.S., according to CEO Ivan Tornos. https://lnkd.in/gUbQpm_8 Abbott has completed the first patient procedures with a new, unnamed transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) system. Designed to complement Abbott’s FDA-approved Navitor TAVR implant, the balloon-expandable valve targets severe aortic stenosis. The device will also integrate AI-powered software for precise placement, addressing trade-offs in deployment ease and anatomical compatibility. https://lnkd.in/g_tAN5QT Medtronic recently shared clinical data supporting its Evolut Pro/Pro+ TAVR system, including findings from the Optimise PRO study and a paravalvular leak analysis. The data showed significant PVL improvement over time in patients treated with Evolut Pro, with notable progress at 30 days and three years. Additionally, the Optimise PRO study demonstrated that using the cusp overlap technique with Evolut Pro and Pro+ devices resulted in better outcomes, including lower pacemaker implantation rates. https://lnkd.in/gMEbKnhE Boston Scientific has signed an agreement to acquire Boston-based infusion pump maker Intera Oncology, with the acquisition expected to close in the first half of 2025. The primary asset of Intera Oncology is its FDA-approved Intera 3000 Hepatic Artery Infusion Pump, which delivers chemotherapy to treat liver tumours through the hepatic artery. While financial details were not disclosed, the deal is expected to have a minimal impact on adjusted earnings per share in 2025. This acquisition marks the fourth for Boston Scientific in 2024, following the acquisitions of Axonics, Silk Road Medical, and Cortex to expand its portfolio in urology, carotid artery disease, and cardiac ablation, respectively. https://lnkd.in/dUmyKwg2 Follow TRESP Recruitment - Medtech and Healthtech Experts to stay updated on all the latest breakthroughs.

  • Saying “no” is tough 😓 especially for ambitious professionals early in their careers. Many fear it might harm their reputation or future opportunities. But done thoughtfully, saying no can showcase prioritisation skills, strengthen relationships, and even refine the ask itself.   Here’s how to reframe your no for better outcomes:   Refine the request: Before declining outright, dig deeper into the request by asking questions such as:   “How does this fit into the broader project?”   “What flexibility exists in the timeline?”   “How will this work be used to make a decision?”   Sometimes, gaining more context can change your perspective or allow you to suggest alternatives. For example, you might identify a quicker solution, such as an existing resource, or explain that current priorities take precedence while offering to revisit the request later. This approach ensures you’re seen as thoughtful and collaborative even when declining.   Negotiate: When you’re open to the project but have constraints, consider proposing adjustments. For instance:   “If finance can provide this data earlier, I can complete the analysis on time.”   “With another associate to assist, I can deliver expert oversight.”   “If we aim for a draft instead of a final version by the deadline, I can meet it.”   These suggestions clarify your needs while showing a willingness to contribute. By proposing workable changes, you can demonstrate problem-solving skills and foster a collaborative dynamic without overextending yourself.   Leverage the Ask: If a request feels beyond your expertise, view it as a growth opportunity. Be honest about your capabilities, like saying, “This is my first time with this, so it may take longer.” Use it to discuss training or support with your manager. For high-priority tasks, consider shifting existing work to make room. Even if you decline, these conversations highlight your career development and open doors for future opportunities.   Saying no is a skill, and when approached strategically, it can enhance your professional image. Whether refining the ask, negotiating terms, or exploring growth opportunities, tactful refusals can build trust, highlight your priorities, and pave the way for meaningful contributions to your career and workplace. #recruitment #leadership #careers #careerresources #manager #employees #workplace

  • At TRESP Recruitment - Medtech and Healthtech Experts, we believe in the power of stories. Through our #TRESPstories series, we showcase our team members and the valuable lessons we can learn from their diverse experiences. Every journey offers a unique perspective on overcoming challenges, staying motivated, and driving success. These stories not only highlight individual achievements but also remind us of the collective effort that shapes our organisation. Located at Work inc, our office is a vibrant space that fosters collaboration, creativity, and drives our team's passion for excellence in recruitment. Today, we’re excited to feature Mehdi Barzegari, the founder of TRESP Recruitment, whose journey in the healthcare industry and passion for talent acquisition continue to inspire us. We asked Mehdi three key questions to gain his insights into motivation, leadership, and advice for newcomers to the industry. On staying motivated: In a fast-paced industry like recruitment, how do you maintain motivation and stay focused on your work goals, especially during challenging times? "Staying motivated - it's internal motivation for me, and it's about looking after my people. By 'my people,' I am referring to all the people that rely on me being successful - my amazing staff and my family. I know that if I fail, there is a cascading effect on others. The one thing that I HATE more than anything is letting my complacency affect others around me. My work goals are intertwined with my personal goals, and it all comes down to creating an environment where others can be successful." Fostering a positive work culture: Managing a team requires balancing individual growth with collective success. How do you foster a positive work culture that keeps your team motivated and aligned with the company’s goals? "Keeping others motivated is the hardest part of leadership. You have to first understand each person's personal and professional goals, what makes them tick, what internal drivers they have, and what external factors are affecting their lives at any given time. Again, create a nurturing and inclusive environment where people can be open with each other, and you're halfway there!" Advice for industry newcomers: What advice would you give someone starting in the industry? "Build trust with your candidates and clients. Don't be afraid to ask for help and favours in the beginning. Recruitment is all about relationships and other people's experience with you. It is the ultimate mix of customer service, prospecting, sales, and marketing—all whilst dealing with the most challenging product in the world—people." Mehdi’s insights reflect the core principles of motivation and leadership: aligning personal and professional goals, fostering trust, and maintaining a strong sense of purpose. His journey inspires us to continue building meaningful relationships and creating opportunities for success. #recruitment #leadership #careers #recruiter #employees

  • Innovation is transforming the #MedTech landscape, with groundbreaking advancements reshaping the future of healthcare. From cutting-edge monitoring solutions to life-saving technologies, new developments are addressing critical medical challenges and improving patient outcomes. Discover how these innovations are setting new standards for the industry and driving impactful change. Abbott recently inaugurated a 30,000-square-metre facility in Kilkenny, Ireland, as part of a €440 million investment to produce FreeStyle Libre 3 glucose sensors. The eco-friendly site, employing over 800 people, will significantly expand Abbott’s production capacity, addressing supply challenges for this critical diabetes management tool. This move aligns with Abbott’s partnerships, such as sensor integration with Medtronic’s insulin systems as it competes with Dexcom in the CGM market. https://lnkd.in/gPS4S-J2 Boston Scientific and Abbott shared promising data at the American Heart Association's annual sessions on left atrial appendage closure devices for atrial fibrillation (AFib) patients. Boston Scientific’s OPTION trial confirmed its Watchman FLX device matched blood thinners in stroke prevention while reducing major bleeding incidents (8.5% vs. 18.1%). Similarly, Abbott’s Amulet IDE trial highlighted the safety and effectiveness of its Amulet device, with 94% of users discontinuing blood thinners post-implantation. These devices offer safer alternatives to long-term anticoagulants for stroke risk management. https://lnkd.in/gpUYP7Bk GE HealthCare’s Portrait Mobile is redefining post-surgical care with real-time monitoring. A Cleveland Clinic study found the device reduced vital sign abnormalities by 25%, enhanced actionable insights, and eased alarm fatigue. Its capacity for timely interventions supports improved outcomes and greater workforce efficiency. https://lnkd.in/gYRjTZV5 Medtronic is addressing supply constraints for its PulseSelect pulsed field ablation (PFA) system, which impacted growth last quarter, by ramping up manufacturing and activating new accounts, with expectations for strong double-digit growth in fiscal Q3.
