Caecilia Potter and Marko Trifunović took the time to speak with LEAP about how Venso Labs has successfully applied Ansys simulation and IoT control with #ThingWorx to develop the #VensoFlow fluidisation process, which involves injecting liquid or solid particles into a gas stream to achieve significant improvements in heat & mass transfer and catalytic reactions, whilst using less energy than competing technologies. Their first commercial application involves the coating of agricultural seeds with VensoGrow, where the inherent benefits of the Venso Flow process helps improve #seedcoating which in turn increases crop yields, enhances shelf life and reduces environmental pollution. Process control is also critical. During the video, Marko shows how their #IoT process control software, powered by ThingWorx, a PTC Technology allows them to monitor and control both the seed and the coating's temperature – providing critical data which impacts on crop yields, including the seed’s performance, vigour and germination. Our team especially loved Caecilia's explanation of how the broader benefits of simulation applied to both their internal team, helping fast-track their own technical insights into the Venso Flow process (originally developed over a lifetime by her father, Emeritus Prof. Owen Potter); but also when communicating the unique benefits of their process to potential customers, partners and investors.
