Exciting progress at VensoGrow as we trial PEWAS Innovative Chemistry hydrogels on canola seeds with our BreezeCoat™ technology! Hydrogels are remarkable materials that can retain water up to 500x their mass and release it slowly, helping seeds to establish even in challenging, drought-prone environments. This innovative approach holds promising potential for boosting crop resilience and sustainability in drought. At VensoGrow, we’re doing everything we can to advance collaborative research and pioneer solutions to address today’s agricultural challenges. Together, we’re working towards a future where crops can thrive despite climate uncertainty. #Innovation #Agritech #SustainableAgriculture #SeedCoating #Hydrogels #DroughtResilience #VensoGrow #BreezeCoat™

"Electric Soil" Boosts Plant Growth by 50% in Just 15 Days! Researchers at Linköping University, led by Associate Professor Eleni Stavrinidou, have discovered an innovative technique called electric soil (eSoil) that significantly enhances crop production. By applying electrical currents to a special blend of cellulose and conductive polymers, barley seedlings grew 50% more in just 15 days. This breakthrough could pave the way for sustainable farming practices, improving yields while reducing resource usage. As climate change and global food demands intensify, innovations like eSoil are crucial for future agriculture. #Sustainability #Agriculture #Innovation #ElectricSoil #Hydroponics #ClimateChange #FoodSecurity #UrbanFarming #SustainableAgriculture

Bioengineers have introduced a groundbreaking concept called "electro-agriculture," aiming to transform traditional farming methods into a more efficient and sustainable process. By harnessing solar energy to power a chemical reaction that converts carbon dioxide (CO2) into acetate, an organic molecule usable by genetically modified plants, this innovative system surpasses the efficiency of photosynthesis. Senior author Feng Jiao highlights that electro-agriculture, independent of climate conditions, could stabilize food markets and support a growing global population. The technique, achieving about 4% efficiency compared to photosynthesis' 1%, could dramatically reduce the land needed for agriculture by up to 94%, shifting food production to vertical, indoor farms. This method promises significant environmental benefits by minimizing water, fertilizer, and land usage while addressing climate change challenges. Electro-agriculture represents a major leap forward in the quest for sustainable food production, potentially revolutionizing agriculture on Earth and beyond. #ElectroAgriculture #SustainableFarming #AgriculturalInnovation #SolarEnergy #Bioengineering #FoodProduction #ClimateChange #VerticalFarming

Microwave Energy supporting Agriculture! 🌾 Exciting news from Crescend Technologies as research by Paolo F. Marccarini, Ph.D. and teams from Duke University, UNC, and UGA showcases the game-changing impact of microwave energy on soil treatment to combat Plant Parasitic Nematodes. These pests cause a staggering $125 billion in crop loss globally and $10 billion in the US alone, with farmers facing potential yield losses of up to 80%. The use of microwave energy, demonstrated through trials with 2 PTL-2.5 kW units, not only prevents pests and weeds but also reduces the need for harmful chemicals, saving farmers money and protecting our environment. A remarkable advancement in sustainable agriculture! 🌱 #Agriculture #MicrowaveEnergy #SustainableFarming https://lnkd.in/gXK82tjS
