As is obvious, even to the layperson, the choice of blinds and curtains involves an appraisal of the aesthetic appeal of the various options. It involves sorting through colour options, assessing the ways a given product could contribute to broader design ambitions, evaluating the need for privacy in a given space, and so on. For design professionals, specifying blinds and curtains should also involve an understanding of not just the functional capabilities of the various products on offer, but the suitability of each for a given application. Specifiers need to be aware of the potential environmental impacts of blinds and curtains. They should be aware of the raw materials and manufacturing practices used to bring a given blind or curtain to market, the ways that quality products of this type can improve the thermal efficiency of buildings, and the role that automation can play in maximising this benefit. In this session of CPD Live, we consider all of this and more. Verosol 202 SilverScreen Performance fabric is inherently fire-retardant and anti-static, therefore dust repellent. The metallised side facing outwards is coated with 99.9% pure aluminium providing excellent solar reflection performance. The product is formaldehyde free, and is Greenguard Gold certified as having very low VOC chemical emissions and hence contributing to a healthy indoor environment. Blinds made with Verosol 202 SilverScreen Performance fabrics greatly reduce energy consumption on indoor air-conditioning, significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions, heat, glare, and harmful UV rays, and creates a more comfortable environment for occupants. 202 SilverScreen Performance is a semi transparent metallised fabric suitable for interior residential and commercial Verosol Roller, Roman and Panel Glide blind systems.
