In a major win for rare earth exploration, Viridis Mining and Minerals Limited latest test results at the Southern Complex have delivered the highest ionic recoveries ever recorded at its Colossus project in Brazil. Key Highlights: 🇧🇷 Achieved 83% Magnetic Rare Earth Oxide (MREO) recovery using a cost-efficient reagent at pH 4.5. 🇧🇷 Breakthrough results reduce reagent consumption by 40%, promising significant operational cost savings. 🇧🇷 Test work conducted in collaboration with ANSTO, leveraging a more environmentally friendly and streamlined leaching process. Viridis CEO Rafael Moreno commented, "With recoveries above 80% for our critical MREOs at near-neutral pH, this showcases the unique value proposition of the Colossus Project. The ability to reduce reagent consumption while improving recoveries is a unique breakthrough that hasn’t been witnessed before at Colossus." The results pave the way for further development, mine planning, and an updated resource estimate, setting Viridis on a strong path towards high-value, sustainable production. Ionic Rare Earths Limited (ASX:IXR, OTC:IXRRF) and joint venture partner Viridis Mining and Minerals Limited (Viridion JV) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with SENAI FIEMG Innovation and Technology Centre. SENAI owns the Lab Fab, South America’s first #RareEarthMagnet laboratory, and the MoU is designed to facilitate joint development and production of rare earth magnets at Lab Fab, in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais. The five-year MoU positions the Viridion JV to become the first Brazilian producer of refined rare earth oxides (REO) from either a mixed rare earth carbonate (MREC) or from recycling of spent magnets from IXR’s UK subsidiary, Ionic Technologies. “This latest agreement is a major step forward for the Viridion JV, helping to unlock magnet recycling’s significant role in the development of initial REE supply chains in new markets such as Brazil,” Ionic Rare Earths managing director Tim Harrison said.
